You've got that right Phil, that bird was bigger than Marvin

I keep a bird feeder in my backyard and always have plenty of birds around with chicadees, sparrows, cardinals, blue jays and up to 50 mourning doves here constantely. I also have a few pigeons that feed here too. I happened to look out the back window this afternoon and couldn't believe what I saw, there was a huge hawk sitting on the ground, under the feeder, devouring a pigeon. I went and got my camera hoping to get a picture thru the glass, but as soon as the hawk saw the movement he flew into a nearby tree. There was nothing left of the pigeon except the 2 wings, a few bones and plenty of feathers and blood scattered around on the ground. I don't know what kind of hawk it was but he was very big and I see quite a few of them around here, but this is the 1st time they've attacked my birds. I don't have my new camera set up yet but here's a shot from the old one, but unfortunately the hawk was about 100' away and didn't come out too well. ........Just below dead center......... This is what's left of the pigeon and hopefully the picture doesn't offend anyone. Definetely survival of the fittest......

I had a question this morning about Canada Pension and had to phone them for the answer and was dreading the thought of being bounced from one person to another as is the norm when calling the Federal Government. I called a phone number on the website, pushed a couple buttons as I was prompted to do untill I got to the appropriate place, and then the phone rang ONE time and was answered by a very friendly person, who gave me an immediate answer to my question, wished me a good day and hung up. Total time from me dialing the number till I got my answer was ONE MINUTE Never heard of before when dealing with a Government agency !! Some days just start out GOOD

scuro, I wan't trying to be a smartdonkey with you, but if you've got a medical problem, a doctor is who you need to talk to, even it takes time to see one in your town, rather than a bunch of strangers. Just take a look at the above responses to your question, it's been suggested you should try physio, reflexology, acccupuncture, anti-inflamatories, advil and heat and I doubt any of the above posters has a medical degree. I've had a pinched nerve myself, so I can certainly understand what your going thru, and it took some major surgury on my spine and several days in the hospital to get it fixed up again. I'm just suggesting you seek advice from a qualified doctor before taking advice from well meaning laymen.

Yup, your right Jon, I've been out driving around a bit this morning and there's definetely alot of icy spots. It's OK though, Global Warming is sposed to come back by the weekend and melt everything again, at least thats what the weather dude is saying right now.

My 1st thought was perhaps you should give your symptoms to your doctor, rather than a bunch of fishermen, course I may be wrong

WOW !! Your PB musky in November to finish of 2007 and now that brute to start off 2008 Your definetely on fire, Kiddo !!

Hey Andy, when you've got more oversized baits than space, ya gotta stuff them in any free space ya can find And Wayne, it'll be an easy job, there's already a knock-out on the dash for another switch.
-
Nope, no master switch on my boat Wayne, everything runs off seperate switches. I disconnected the livewell and now use that switch to power some interior lights that I installed for night fishing. When I remove my current sonar, that will free up a spot on the fuse panel to hook up the new one.
-
Hey Marc, Happy Birthday Bud & all the best to ya
-
Thanks guys Each of these units will be plugged into the fuse panel under the console and will each be on a seperate 3 amp fuse in the block.
-
Hey boyz, I'm reading over the manual for my new sonar ( Lowrance X510c ) and it says I should install an on / off switch to prevent electrolosis from happening in the power cable. Evidentely this can happen even if the unit is shut off if it isn't hooked to a switch. Just so I'm clear on this...... Would I install a toggle switch on the dashboard and run the positive lead from the sonar to one side of it, then come off the other side and go to the fuse panel, and then run the negative wire from the unit straight to ground ?? And one other question....... I always take my GPS ( Globalmap 7200 ) outta the boat at the end of the day, but the manual says if it's going to be left in the boat continuously, it should also be connected to a switch as the antenna is still drawing juice from the battery even when turned off. Could I hook the GPS & sonar both to the same switch and then ground them both together ?? Any thoughts ??

2Tone, here's a little 4" diecast fire truck I played with as a kid back in the early 50's I'd forgotten all about it many moons ago, but then found it again about 40 years later under my parents front porch when I was doing some renovations for them. It was in rough shape after laying in the cold dirt for 40 odd years, but I cleaned it up and gave it some fresh paint and it now sits warm & dry in a curio cabinet with a bunch of other collectibles I have. Fun memories
