  1. Congrats to you on the new boat. Must be nice. Yes, take pics and post them please. As for the 10lb anchor. Weight of anchor is not as important as type of anchor. I'm sure it'll do fine. My boat is 16'9" and I use a 5lb anchor on the river (the Larry) and it holds just fine. Just make sure, and this is important, that you have a long anchor line and that in between the line and the anchor you have 4`of good quality chain and you`ll never have a problem.
  2. You're so right there Rich. I know a guy (who shall remain nameless) who is 3 times that age and if he wants to feed his family any fish at all he has to bring his wife Monique, his son Avery and his daughter Jaden out in the boat with him to catch the fish.
  3. You look like a pretty happy dude in those pics Matt. Good on ya. Looks like a good time for sure. Secret lure eh?
  4. Nice legs, Dan.
  5. Hey that's pretty neat, how much does it weigh?
  6. If somebody wants it, they'll take it. You can make it difficult for them though.....sometimes they'll move on to an easier target. One of the best things you can do is to keep your boat in a visible and well lighted area. Stay vigilant.
  7. To avoid any kind of trouble you'd need to call MNR and animal control folks to do it for you.
  8. I think it's a 17 hour drive to that dam, Bubba. I'd be willing to go though.
  9. It doesn't much matter how much it weighs. It's a nice bass. It could be that the lodge folks want it to be 10 lbs. It could be that when the dude got home he told his wife and neighbours that he caught a 10lb fish....we don't know, nor do I care. I remember my first muskie. I called it a 42 incher and that thing was probably not 37". It wasn't like I was lying...I was just so excited over my first muskie. Let the dude be and let him have his 15 minutes.
  10. Good catch Darren. Nice to kinda/sorta meet you Craig.
  11. Not lately Darren, I haven't been fishing. I'll be fishing a lot more starting Saturday the 18th.
  12. Kinda fitting that the dudes name is Senor Insano. Our very own Jamie, "Crazyhook" is an adept at that sport.
  13. I use a GPS.
  14. It's the same fish, Dannyboy but I seriously doubt that a 27 inch zander would weigh 17.5 pounds.
  15. 5168 is your member number and not the actual number of members in our community.
  16. So who won the debate bud?
  17. Curt, our household will keep young Jacob in our thoughts tomorrow.
  18. I don't care what anybody says. A perch every 54 seconds for 3 hours straight is a herculean feat!

    Noob..

Welcome aboard. Lots of members in your area. Your display name leads me to believe that you'll fit right in here based on some of the posts we've had recently.
  20. Excellent boat Mike. This is the one I run.
  21. I'm almost always between 1.5 and 2.2 MPH. I find that if you stay at those speeds and troll in an 'S' pattern, you'll slow your bait down on an inside turn and speed it up on the outside turn.......notice which way you're turning when you get a hit and it'll give you a pretty good idea as to what they want.
  22. I think that at that time of the year especially, with a canoe your best bet would be to jig......white tubes for example. It would be good if you had sonar though.
  23. This one is pretty good. Just click the area you want to see from the list on the left. http://www.boatlaunches.ca/index.php?optio...4&Itemid=55
  24. I really like Reef Runners in the 800 series. This year I want to try the Cabela's brand called walleye runner. They look good. Has anyone used these?
  25. Everyone get everything off their chests? Good. Now how about something constructive?
