The round silver plate with the arrow is where the Model # is sometimes, there is a # there but I can't read it. Is the plate on the mounting bracket gone or just painted over? The gear lube that I use in mine is Formula 1 SAE 90 the Brand name is a preference but it should be a SAE 90 gear lube. Yes on the stand or on the boat is where you want it. sunchaser81

When you change the lower unit oil, make sure you fill it back up from the bottom, the motor should be in the upright position and fill it until the air bubbles stop coming out of the top plug, this prevents an air lock and will able you to put in the proper amount of gear lube in. You should pick up the adapter that goes on the bottle of gear lube and then attaches to the lower unit to fill it, you don't need it to do the job but makes it easier and less mess, CTC, Princess Auto have them. Hi Everyone, Can someone tell me what fish I can expect to catch in the Salmon R. east of Belleville. I want to do some canoeing on it, sometime this summer and thought I would also do some fishing as well. I will likely put in somewhere around the 401 unless there is a better stretch of the river. I am not looking for hot spots for fish, just if one stretch of the river is better for canoeing and or fishing. thanks in advance sunchaser81

The plate with the serial and model # is where I have circled in red, to me it looks like it is there but painted over. If it is gone, take some close-up pictures of the engine block, and will see if we can point out where the model # is. hope this helps sunchaser81

Everyone will need the Boat Operators License this Sept. 15/09. So you should get it as soon as you can. If you were born after April 1 1983 then you need it now You must have it with you when operating the boat. Pick up a up to date "Safe Boating Guide" it is free and many place's have them.. Canadian tire, some gas station, MNR. there is a lot of info in it and will tell you what you need and will help you get ready for the test. You will need the required safety equipment (the safe boating guide will tell what you need) You will need to register your boat, the motor is over 9.9hp You need to have in the boat the Pleasure Craft License. When you register your boat, ask them to give you an official copy one for you records and one to keep in the boat. Call you local OPP or MNR office and ask them what you need for insurance, they will be the one's give you the fine for what you don't have. Call you Insurance to see if you can put it under you home insurance as a rider. Most companies allow up to a certain dollar value of the boat and up to a certain horsepower. Then you will have peace of mind that if something happens you will be covered. There may be other things that you need that I didn't think of. Hope this helps sunchaser81

It's what aniceguy and norhteastshark said, it is the unburt oil that has built up in the exhaust housing and then runs down and out the prop. use seafoam on a regular basis, it is great stuff and has many uses such as a gas additive, cleans the built up carbon on the pistons.
