I'm kind of a old fart so I'm bias towards mono line but here's my observations and applications. Mono can be used where ever a braided line is used but not visa a verse. For MOST of my fishing which is spinning I really like mono for many reasons. I am a fanatic for light line use. I use 4 lb test most of the time and rarely lose a fish. I do use #30 Power Pro for my Dipsy Diver rods. It is so thin and gets my baits down better when walleye trolling on Lake Erie. I really think the fishing line industry is relishing in this kind of stuff. They are making almost as much money on fishing line as the big oil companies are making on a barrel of oil.

YES, you got the right idea. I did a whole wall like that back in December. The long wall had over 300 tiles that had to be scraped off. I replace the wall board but I can tell you it was a BIG job scraping off all those tiles. Bottom line though was $80 in material compared to a $1000 or more if I had to purchase new tiles because the WHOLE bathroom is tiled and I couldn't match new tiles with the old tiles.

If the grout lines are narrow sometimes a utility knife works great. Just purchase about a dozen extra blades. Check to make sure none of the tiles are loose or you are wasting your time re-grouting them. To check just knock on them with your knuckle and you will hear the hollow difference from a tile that is well bonded to the wall. Good Luck, Bob

Any of the Lowrance "X" Series are VERY GOOD sonar and GPS units. I installed a X-19 for a friend a couple of years ago. I was amazed at the detail that unit had. We could zoom right into his driveway with the software that came with the unit. However, be prepared to spend some major bucks for a X or LCX unit from Lowrance. They start out at about $750 - $2,250 US. It the software that your paying for. The more the cost the better the mapping the unit already has.

The bride and I are heading to the West Arm on the 25th. I have never fished the area so I will have to do some searching before catching. Just hope the weather is fairly good and some walleyes are hungry while we are there. Good Fishing, Bob

I would rather watch reruns of the all Buffalo Bills Super Bowl loses than a live Canadian Football game. REAL FOOTBALL is played in the NFL. BTW............ GO SABRES but the Sens have out played them hands down and deserve to win the series.

When my 1985 50 hp Johnson VRO was new and under warranty I used oil sold with the Johnson name. But for the last 20 years or so I have used Walmart's brand outboard oil. It called Tech something and cost about $8 a gallon. I have not had ANY motor problems what so ever using this oil. I do a LOT of trolling with this motor on Lake Erie walleyes and have not had a carbon build up in all these years. A LOT of the special oils are only special in name and price.

It's not over until the fat lady sings, but I do hear her humming. Go Sabres ! ! !

One more powerpro thought for you all...

Over the many years of fishing especially walleye I have gone to 4# mono line and haven't lost any fish. However, since I am not a meat fishermen I really don't care if I do lose a fish. Using the light line I tend to get more bites than my fishing partner especially in clear water or on negative fish. -
SO WHERE DOES IT SAY IN "MY" POST that I said not enough was done. Since I have NOT purchased a Ontario license in several years (this year will be different) and your fish/game laws are different than here in NY State it was a honest mistake as to the consumption part. BUT that was NOT what you were referring to and YOU know that. At least I can admit to my mistake, how about you NANUK ? ? ?
-
Nanuk I don't see where ANYONE said Jigatollah didn't do enough INCLUDING myself. What I did say it's their word against yours and WITHOUT evidence nothing can come of it. HOWEVER, I applaud him for his efforts. You shouldn't put words in some else's mouth. I know I don't like it and many others don't either.
-
You might of discouraged them from bagging more fish but I don't see where much can be done. All they have to do is dispose of the evidence and it's your word against theirs. And who to say they didn't consume their first catch and come back for more. BUT they will think twice before pulling off this caper again.

Interesting report. I have never fished or caught white fish in soft water. Please tell me more. How, about where and your presentation. I love them smoked. Bob

Sounds like you did a nice job. Every spring I expect I'll have to replace my bilge or live well pump on my 1985 Grumman. But knock on wood it just keeps on tick-en. Last year I did replace the on/off switch on the live well with a timer switch. Should of done that YEARS ago. Bob

I live just a few miles from the border and have crossed it thousands of times. Right now a Driver License is only needed. I have never had my birth certificate with me. Starting Jan 2008 things are suppose to change and a passport or the new "Pass" card will be needed if they ever produce one.

It's a EASY fix. Go to a tackle shop and ask for guide winding thread in the color of your choice. The proper way is to strip all the old windings off and start new. Tape on the guide to the pole using just a bit of tape close to the guide hole. Put the new line through a heavy book and start winding on the thread about a half inch from the said guide and wind OVER the starting end so it stays in place. Wind up and over the foot of the guide. When your about a quarter inch from the end take another piece of thread about 8-10 inches long and fold in half to make a loop on one end. Now lay this loop on the pole opposite of the guide foot and wind over it and the rest of the guide foot. When your at the end of the guide foot cut the line and put it through the loop you made with that piece of thread. Now start to pull that loop so it just starts to pull the thread you cut UNDER the windings you did over the guide foot. Now cut the thread tag as it's being held under the windings. Your now ready to pull fast so that the end line winding is buried under the winding and your done except to coat the winding with something like color preservative or clear nail polish or whatever. If you were making a new rod you would protect the winding with a color preservative and then coat with a polymer finish. But for just one guide it's not worth the extra expense.

It seems like most everything is not working pointing to a bad ground. Without a GOOD ground you can have all kinds of trouble. Bob

I had a Hotmail account and had MANY important emails stored that got wiped out by Hotmail. Since then I went to Gmail and believe me it's the BEST FREE or pay email service you can get. However, you must be invited to Gmail.com Bob
