  1. I disagree on this. If a player gets injured due to a malicious act of another player, you get an NHL appointed doctor to look at him. However long the doctor says the player should take to recover, the attacker is suspended for that many games unless the player is medically cleared to return sooner.
  2. I honestly think these rules are put in place just to protect from the idiots as most people have been saying. Hopefully law enforcement recognizes that and wouldn't bother someone with a drone who is doing no harm. Sadly though, if there are enforcement officials having a bad day or have something to prove, they would be in their right. It's such a fine line.
  3. Boston beat the Islanders. Thank god it was in regulation.
  4. This is a great tip. Thanks. Will keep my eyes open on this one.
  5. My grandfather says all you need is to prove you are from Ontario and over 65. ......... my grandfather also says we should keep all the Muskie because they eat the walleye and bass. :/
  6. Remember the guy who had the heart attack on the ice a few years ago? Best Meme ever. Baseball: Blister - 3 weeks off on DL Basketball : Sprained ankle - 4 weeks on DL Soccer : Bruised shin - 8 weeks on DL Hockey: Heart attack - next shift 'Put me in coach!' Shouldn't fingers be like the high stick rule? Blood equals an extra 2 mins?
  7. Regardless of what happens, this is real exciting hockey. Since I'm not a river fisherman i'm glad I have something to do while I wait for the lakes to open up.
  8. Anyone see the most recent blue ice report? Crappie out of Cooks bay?!?!

I have. I'm just being silly. This year I only landed one crappie on the ice though.

  9. Talked me into it. I'll watch movies with the missus. Let me know when you get the toon out. I'll join ya in the Yak.
  10. This is the best advice I can give as someone who drove a sedan from Thunder Bay to Toronto for 4 summers. If you drive at night, find an 18 wheeler, give er space and let her set the pace. Going 10 below the speed limit is ok if it means you get there in one piece.
  11. I didn't see the game. Was it 6:55 from whistle to whistle or did Babcock keep rolling the dice as the penalty got closer to being over?
  12. Agreed. Once upon a time, Hearst Ontario had the best hamburgers I had ever eaten in my life at a little chip stand called Mikos. It was a debate if I would take the 11 or the 17 (yes, the burgers were that good). Last time, coming back from Edmonton in 2014, I decided to go the 11 route for my fill. The stand had been sold by the family to someone else. They insisted that the recipe had been sold along with the stand, but it was clear some secrets live and die with the ones who created them. It was never the same, and not worth the detour. Make sure to give extra time along the 17 from Sault to Thunder Bay. Lots of scenic viewpoints with parking you will want to stop and 'stretch your legs' at.
  13. If you go a little past Edmonton, the Pembina provincial park is awsome. It's like a natural lazy river complete with guys renting tubes. Fishing is great in Dryden and nicest people I have met in my life. Take the 17 rather then the 11 to Thunder Bay. Most beautiful view we have in Canada. If you can start your trip going to Tobermory then taking the Chi-Chi mun to the manatoulin island, highly reccomended. When I think of more I'll add to this.
  14. I'd be ecstatic with 1. Puts us in a real good spot.
  15. The fingernail one makes me sqeemish. You would have to remove the nail, push the hook through, clip the barb, then pull it out. NO THANK YOU! Sounds like torture.
  16. Princess auto has a deal on propane heaters right now. The 15 000 BTU one that Nick (NAW) has is on for $30.

  17. Holy smokes what a game. I honestly don't think I have ever seen the leafs turn an almost surefire OT game into a win that late in the third. Quite the effort by everyone.
  18. Thanks. This time of the year, spud and float coat are maditory regardless of what everyone says. But if you or the other locals say the ice isn't safe, I'm not even going to make the drive.
  19. Thanks buds. Thinking morning in my Muskoka lake then evening perchin in up.
  20. On Thursday or Friday can someone let me know if Simcoe is safe? Looking for one more outing in the Muskokas.
  21. Thanks. I don't really have the cash but it's worth looking into.
