Hope they sell em somewhere. I'd love to get a St. Pats jersey. This game was huge. Buds did exactly what they needed to do. Now they need 3 points in the next two games. Preferably a regulation win Vs the Bruins.

Hit the evening bite bud. We had our most success from 5pm to 7. Just in time for dinner. Also, I should open up Jer's perch filleting business. I fillet 5, I get to keep 1. 6 inch fish plus. No exotic species.

We went yesterday. Deals are a thing of the past. Was looking to get a rod for the Missus and never happened. But the shows were good. Saw 2 dog shows and the lumberjack competition. Really though, if we didn't get in for free we probably wouldn't have gone.

Glad you got some fish for the pan bud. Always fun to mix it up and perch have been super hot on Simcoe this winter. Good on ya to mix it up.

In the next 3 leafs need to beat Boston and need 2 points between the Chicago and Columbus games. Tall task.

The draft always confuses me in hockey. (Not really I just never look at the actual standings). I always figure if you make the playoffs, highest you can pick is 17th........ I'd implement that rule to be honest. Kinda sucks if you are in the west, finish out of a playoff spot with 92 points and you end up picking lower then a team in the east that made the playoffs with 86 points.

Timothy Liljergen looks great but will go top 3. Keep an eye on Nicholas Hauge or Cal Foote. Both guys would look great on the leafs. But both may go top 15.

Much as I love the leafs, I'd bet money against them making the playoffs. Boston is too far ahead and Tampa has finally turned it on and has become the team everyone thought they were. I could honestly see Tampa going 10-5 down the stretch even if the Leafs win tonight.

Seems like social media causes more harm then good to most professional athletes. I know guys always used to do this. Hell, Kevin Stevens used to smoke a cigar on the ice during the pre-game warm up. But now, if the team has a bad game, it's fuel for the fire.

I love this too. We give Americans a hard time all the time over how big Ontario is, but first time I went to New Jersey, we had been driving for about 8 hours and I'm like........ wait........ we're still in Pennsylvania?!?!?

Thanks guys. LMAO B, ever the humble one eh? This is probably going to be blasphemy but all things created equal, I'd take a plate of perch over whitefish....... over just about anything we can pull out of a lake in Ontario to be honest. I know the filleting takes longer for a full meal, and they aren't as fun to reel in but if someone else was doing all the work and I was given an option, I think perch in fish crisp with a chopped onion is #1 in my book. (Course if any of you want to invite me over for a fish dinner to try and prove me otherwise, I'll gladly accept your invitation. )

The future is promising but I am wondering if we have put ourselves in a tough spot now. Our forwards look amazing, probably best in the league in a couple of years. Andersson can get the job done, but I'm really really worried about the D moving forward. Lets even say, best case scenario that Riley is a 2 d-man and Zeitsev is a 3. We still need that one shutdown defender, and probably need a couple of 4's to be honest. Ideally I'd like to see 3 new D men on this team before I consider them cup contenders, and I have no idea where we are going to get them from. It'll be an interesting next couple of years.

Hey blue. Don't go fishing with Brian. He'll show you the spot, show you the lures, then catch 30 fish while you get skunked 6 feet away from him. (Plus he puts bear traps on his ice fishing holes when he is done with em) Seriously though, lots of good folks here. Welcome to the board.

I love anti- leaf fans. There isn't a single team in Canada that can say they have been 'doing well' in the past 30 years. We're coming up on 25 since Montreal won the cup and that was the last one won by a Canadian franchise. But tell me again how the leafs are the only Canadian team struggling. Best part is, the future is bright for the Leafs. Does it Garentee a cup? Heck no. I would have rather the team was Terrible this year and got one more top flight D man. But that is life. The future still looks promising. Good luck againsts Washington and Pittsburgh in the playoffs Sens fans. Least we aren't that delusional here.

The end of the season is drawing down, everyone is getting ready for the soft water season, but before we packed away the ice gear for another year, I promised my buddy and his lady friend I would get them out. She had never been and wanted to experience ice fishing. They don't have a lot of money so I told them if they got their fishing licences I would set all of us up on Cooks with one of the new popup tents that I traded Brian for. Saturday night I show up at my buddies place and the two of them are hammered. I figure 'We aren't going ice fishing tomorrow'. So I tell them 'Call me when you wake up tomorrow and we'll go.' Sunday I get up around 8 or 9. No news. My buddy gets up around 11:30 and she still isn't awake. I figure this isn't happening. Around 1PM I get a text from her 'ICE FISHING!!!'. So I guess we are still on. We get out on the ice, full gear around 2:30. Still gives us a lot of the day before dark. I must not have been paying attention because I tried setting the pop up tent inside out. I figure its going to be one of those days. (seriously, I'll try putting the videos on youtube or something. They're pretty hilarious to look at now. I wasn't amused at the time.) So we get the huts set up, holes drilled and everyone comfy. Now, the thing about Cook's bay and myself is, I know people catch eater perch there. I've seen the videos and seen people catch them, but I seriously don't think I have ever had one over 5 inches. I just always get the dinks. So I'm expecting a day of a decent number of fish but no size. Then something strange happens. My buddies lady friend pulls an eater size perch out of the hole. Then some small ones and some perch stealing our minnow. Then my buddy pulls an eater through the hole. Then I end up getting two. Then it was on. We were all competing for most fish, biggest fish. Most eaters. Anything we could challenge each other to. Around 7pm we had 11 keepers on the ice, which was incredible. We hooked into so many perch we had lost count and everyone is having a good time. The sun is starting to go down so I say to everyone, last minnow before we head in. My buddies lady friend's rod bends over, we can actually hear the drag working on this one. She fights it for a little bit and pulls this monster of a perch out of the hole. Easily biggest one of the night. My buddy and I both pull up our lines and start packing and she says 'Can't we fish just a little more'. To which we explained 'last cast' karma and why it was imperative we ended on a high note and stopped fishing right then. Now, yet another friend is hooked on fishing. You know, I know a lot of people who say 'fishing' just isn't their thing. But I can't think of anyone that has ever said that after a successful day of catching fish. I think everyone likes catching. Two more parting shots. One last look at cooks for the winter. and our favorite contest "Try to make the little fish look as big as possible. One more good shot for the season.

Leafs will get some of those too in the next 3-4 years. I always laugh how Matt makes fun of us true Leafs fans that stick with the team when they have been terrible. Being a bandwaggon fan is easy.

Well, I could do the 16 part. The rest of it is beyond my means. I feel like I spent money even just looking at that listing.

And that was without the fans trying to put the team out of business. Its all fun and games until the team gets relocated to Phenoix.

Damn bud. Another great outing. I don't know how you dial them in so well but it continues to impress. Great job on icing those whities this year. Looks like you had a few really good meals.
