Just imagine if Kessel threw up an elbow every time someone came near him. He would for one be in the box the whole game and two be labeled as a cheap shot artist. The game isn't the same now.

Think about it in terms of any team. Imagine Chara going after Spezza, or Probert after gretzky or.... the list goes on. Carlisle said that he was trying to diffuse the situation by putting out the kessel line he had no idea that buffalo would stoop so low and go after him. Just crazy on both sides.

Goons have a place in the game, but that place isn't going after the stars of the game.

Too bad Orr and Mclaren wern't in the lineup. Scott is a foolish goon. There will be some suspensions for sure. Kessel will likely get one and if he does he deserves it.

Most people that have played the game especially goalies have levered pucks off there shin. To add a clear cicking motion at your stick seems pretty clearly defined as kicking equipment. I see no such mention of the kciking of equipment refering to items on the ice. The rule simply states one cannot kick a stick equipment at a puck. Seems pretty clear to me. Of course anyone can take something for the way its written or of course make up whatever add on's they want. We certainly see that with the fishing regs all the time. haha Anyway, it would be interesting to see what ruling would be if something like that happened in a real game.

He clearly with a kicking motion kicked the shaft of his stick propelling the puck towards the goal. The rul doesn't explicitely say only just that "This includes". It does however explictly state "kicks any equipment (stick, glove, helmet, etc.)" Last I heard the stick is the stick. Seeing as how its not possible to kick the shaft and the blade its reasonable to assume that kicking the shaft is considered kicking the stick.

49.2 Goals - Kicking the puck shall be permitted in all zones. A goal cannot be scored by an attacking player who uses a distinct kicking motion to propel the puck into the net. A goal cannot be scored by an attacking player who kicks a puck that deflects into the net off any player, goalkeeper or official. A puck that deflects into the net off an attacking player’s skate who does not use a distinct kicking motion is a legitimate goal. A puck that is directed into the net by an attacking player’s skate shall be a legitimate goal as long as no distinct kicking motion is evident. The following should clarify deflections following a kicked puck that enters the goal: (i) A kicked puck that deflects off the body of any player of either team (including the goalkeeper) shall be ruled no goal. (ii) A kicked puck that deflects off the stick of any player (excluding the goalkeeper’s stick) shall be ruled a good goal. (iii) A goal will be allowed when an attacking player kicks the puck and the puck deflects off his own stick and then into the net. A goal cannot be scored by an attacking player who kicks any equipment (stick, glove, helmet, etc.) at the puck, including kicking the blade of his own stick, causing the puck to cross the goal line.

Clearly the answer here is to make it illegal for someone to steal a police officers gun and use it to kill people.

Breaking Bad-this Sunday/ Final 8 episodes

Glad that slob of a DEA agent died. The big question is who is the ricin for. What one person dyeing will give closure to the series. I am going to say Walt does it himself after turning himself in. As much as I want Skyler to eat it along with he stupid sister. I have a feeling like they will both be standing at the end. As for Jesse. He escapes and gets away. There must be some time that has passed so perhaps in the next one, Jesse gets offed in the next one after cooking up some blue. and one of the bobsie twins or walt gets it in the finale. -
haha, diggin up the past with this thread... I'll bite. What a goal by Kadri. and wear the big A this year I see. shoudl make for an interesting year.
-
I say good on him for getting what he did. I would have rather signed him long because I believe in two years he is going to cost far more. Let the puck drop.

This whole Kadri thing is more about Bob Mackenzie shooting his mouth off about what he thinks the offers have been versus what they actually have been. I haven't seen any information from Kadri nor the leafs what the offers have been. I can't see whay anyone would put fault on a guy for wanting term in a deal.If you think he isn't good enough to play for the next 5 years then trade him. If you do get some value for him. The reality is the leafs have two guys worth more than the 5 mil in cap space that they have. They need to short change someone.I would have no issues with offering 3-4 million per year for 5 years to kadri, but that only leave a mil per year for franson. Perhaps the leafs think Bolland is a better player. What will happen is Bolland will slide into the 2 spot when he is percect as the 3. center. Kadri is a great second line center. Energy player, gritty, will attract power plays, can put the puck in the net, too weak on defense to be the number 1. Makes a great fit imo. Kadri and Bolland as 2 and 3. would be great, then the top spot needs to be evauluated. With the changes in net I really like that. I think the leafs will be an improved team over last year and last year they surpassed everyones expectations. Do I think kadri is the next Gretzky? No. Do I thnk is a good player, on the upswing with loads of pure hockey tallent. Yes I do. I would hate to see him traded to another team.

I saw kadri play a few games in person and this kid, and make no mistake he is still a kid has serious hockey skills. He is clearly not a number 1 center as he is lacking the size and face off ability. He plays a gritty game, grittier than his size. He plays every shift with heart. He can put the puck in the net and make great passes. The problem with his role is that its not defined. He was stuffed on a line where he didn't fit. He was brought up and down and benched for ever little thing he did wrong. I am not saying he is the end all and be all. But is a very good player. IMO one of the most talented players on the leafs. As someone mentioned ask the habs next year if the bridge contract was worth it. The big question is do you think Kadri will catch lightning in a bottle this year. If the answer is yes then a bridge contract will kill the leafs. If not than a bridge is the way to go. I am looking forward to seeing Kadri continue to grow. It has been a long time since the leafs had a player with this much skill at such a young age. They just need to keep shaping him and put him on the ice in the right circumstances.

I have found they are hit and miss. If the fish are chasing then they work awesome. If they are spooked or finicky they are just purdy to look at.
-
Not too hard, just cast and retrieve. The quicker you go the shallower they run. Try running them on top of submerged weedbeds just ticking the top of the weeds, or alongside weed edges. They do work well but you have to put lots of casts in just like a spinner bait. Also try and mix up the trailer plastic you use. Sometimes that can make all the difference in the world.

Going from 82 to 90 per year for a car.

Just a heads up. The license plate renewals are going up as of sept 1 2013. If you need to renew this year do it before then. They are going up 8 dollars per year or 16 for two years.

Taught all my girls to use a spinning reel from the very beginning. They all got the hang of it quickly. Age 2 and 3 they had no problems casting a spinning reel. They use ice fishing rods. Hold the line in one hand and click the bail open throw it an let go of the line at the same time. they did that for a year and now they cast with one hand.
