I don't recal seeing Roberts going on outbursts or rants but he did play with emotion and played with heart and was a leader. A player doesn't need to rant and rave on the ice. But he has play with heart. Something Sundin rarely did. Look at how great he played when he played for his country in the olympics. He played gritty, hard and with heart. Something I rarely saw him do even in the playoffs. and I saw several deep play off games in person. This is just my opinion though. Like I mentioned some people liked that floater style of play.

I believe on 98-99 and 01-02, but this was with some great leaders that the leafs brought in like Mogilny, Cujo, Gilmour, Tucker, Roberts, Belfour

Ah yes the trap of cute beagle puppies. Sooner or later everyone fall for those big dopey eyes and cute floppy ears. Get some hig hpowered electric tazers and you will be fine.

The numbers are better comming back for the Leafs but I doubt any leaf fan is thinking any of the moves this year is going put us over the top. I dout anyone from the sabres could make a difference. Some people enjoyed the plodding along of Sundin with flashes of great skill. The truth is he mailed it in long before he left Toronto. Sundin is and always will be in my mind a good hockey player, with little heart, no leadership and good hands. A solid supporting character. Does e remind you of anyone on the Leafs now? Kessle. he has a similar makeup but I think Kessle is a better pure goal scorer. He desperatly needs a leader to follow. I can't even imagine how people would breahe Clarke, Gilmour or Sittler in the same breathe as Sundin. Makes me ill.

I am hopeful, but Burkes 4 year plan included giving up two number 1's for Kessle to pan out.

Try this... Reel it in with your rod angled at 45 degrees to the left or right and slightly pointed up. then when you get a hit point your rod down at the lure's location, this will give you some slack... slowly reel up the slack and when the slack is gone set the hook hard upright and keep the presure on. This will keep the fish up out of the weeds and tension on the line. Don't stop reeling. Like when I say set the hook hard. I mean HARD. LIke get up on your toes kind of hard. It also helps if you have a longer rod. I uses a 7'6" rod. This technique gives enough time for the fish to take it under, as well the fish won't feel any weight until you set the hook. I have seen many times while frog fishing that as soon as the fish feels weight on the line they will spit the frog. soemthign unnatural about a frog that is being pulled out of its mouth makes them want to spit it.

I would rather be in a 12foot hard bottom zodiac than a 12 foot alluminum any day of the week. I don't mean a little dinghy type inflatable I mean a real zodiac. They are super solid and easialy transportable in a car. Here are just a few. Try ad look into a RIB.The are great boats. http://toronto.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehicles-boats-watercraft-powerboats-motorboats-10-zodiac-omc-W0QQAdIdZ295227709 http://toronto.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehicles-boats-watercraft-other-Dinghy-ZODIAC-W0QQAdIdZ294646062 http://toronto.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehicles-boats-watercraft-seadoos-water-powersports-zodiac-Mark-I-Touring-fold-up-boat-W0QQAdIdZ287587086

Its very difficult to actually call Sundin a Marque player. Just because he was the best on the team doens't mean he is all that great. I know of very few people who actually liked Sundin and thought of him as a Marque player. I never did. The only player that shows any glimour of hope is Reimer. Think of all the great players that the leafs have had a shot at but fell short or never stepped up to bat. Lindros, Gretzky, Messier, Richards, Iginla the list goes on. Instead the Leafs are happy with having one player better than the rest of bums. Lets face it te leafs have 1 player that could play top line on any other team. Thats kessle, and he is a supporting character. he can't stand on his own. You could make an argument for Grabovski, but thats a bit of a stretch. The young talent is there though for the 2,3 and 4 lines. But we are still missing the superstar the fans deserve.

Burke is too much of a whimp to send an offer sheet to Stamkos. Would be nice but its never going to happen. I heard Tampa's last offer is 5 year 37.5Leafs should send in an 5 year 50 mil

Sometimes in a situation 2 people can both be wrong. A boater can be held responsible for the damage there wake causes. As well you're not supposed to anchor yourself to a navigational bouy. I would be willing to bet a shiny dollar bill tht if some guy was achored illegally, and someone swamped him and killed him. The guy doing the swamping would get charged.

NF: Family of Raccons Living Under Deck... sugguestions?
jedimaster replied to Sudzy's topic in General Discussion
funny story about a racoon A few years ago my neighbor came over one day asking me if I still had my highpowered bb gun. I said yah. He asked if he could borrow it cause a racoon was trapped in his attic above his kitchen and he wanted to kill it. So of course I went to his house with him. He crawls up and started to unload at it.Plink plink plink and all of a sudden I heard a screem and crash. He fell through the drywall ceiling and landed on the kitchen table on his back smashing it to pieces. The racoon jumped down through the hole and ran out the back door. He said he didn't even hit it once as he cold see very good. When he was shooting at it he hit a stud bracket and it ricocheyed back and hit him square in the middle of his forehead. He had a red dot and a bruise there for weeks. His also couldn't sit down for a week as his wife beat his ass when she got home and saw the mess and desctruction. I helped him put up a new sheet of drywall, and his wife got a trip to the brick for a new table and chairs. -

yep, red turns grey deep under water. I like the red hooks because I think it looks like blood or damage to a body. Thats my theory and I am sticking to it. -

I have several application specific rods. Whenever he new gizmo comes out I can't help myself. Clackin cranks, xraps, red hooks, banjo minnow. I am proud to announce that I have not yet bought a wave spin. -
Thats good info, I wasn't too sure about that part. All I knw is I have never had to pay tax on a used boat that I bought.
-
If I have a car and you have a car, and we trade them you WILL pay taxes on the value of the car you are getting when you transfer the ownership. I can guarantee this.

I tried the new Live Target Frog on the opener for Bass, and I did get 4 strikes. 1 fish took it under water. I set the hook hard with a 7'6" Heavy action PT Tour with 65 pound braid and the fish only got halfway to the boat. The action ontop of the water was not as good as i was used to seeing compared to other frogs. It also sits almost vertical in the water, and makes it look kinda weird when you stop it. I used a walk the dog technique, a slow retrieze and a jerk bait type movement. I found the jerkbait movement provided the best action and is te only movement that got hits. I will be leaving te live target in the tackle box next tournament.

When you trade cars you stil pay taxes on the book value even if you have not traded any cash. As for boats, I can't say I have ever had to pay taxes on a used boat, and I have always regeistered them.

Yah, not so happy with shimano myself I had the same issue accept I drove down to aikmans. In the end I ragged out on Shimano on the phone and they said I cut cut off the blank and mail it to them to save on postage. With the postal strike looming though I haven't got around to it. Not at all happy with shimano right now either. I am thinking of completing the transition to St.Croix... but I have so many shimano rods I would need to replace. I guess I could have a fire sale.
-
If its a compre it has a lifetime warranty. You will need to mail it to Shimano in peterborough. You used to be able to take it to Aikmans in Mississauga, but Shimano cancelled them as a rod warranty outlet. now all rods must go to the factory. I have a compre I also need to take back. You can drive it over there as well.

Bruins 5-2 and Loungo gets the hook before the end of the second.

There are all kinds of people happy with there trackers as well, but you throw that brand under the bus. No offense to anyon that owns either. Speaking from my personal experience and people I know. A Legend is not a brand I would consider or recommend. It comes as much from the the fact that I would never touch a welded alluminum hull as it does a particular vendor. I am very glad that your rivetted Legend that as made by another company is good, as I understand the boat he is looking at has a welded Hull and I would steer as far away from that as possible.

Great Job by the MNR Enforcement Team
jedimaster replied to Michael_Brown's topic in General Discussion
Just a reminder to people that when you do catch fish you need to package them so they can be redily identified and counted, as well you need to leave a patch of skin on.... This is a good one. http://www.mnr.gov.on.ca/en/Business/Enforcement/2ColumnSubPage/273935.html
