  8. Well what a night this was! Shawn and his friend Robert were heading back out this evening to do some more Salmon fishing, and his friend was very nice to invite me along. So I went to my nextdoor neighbours and asked if they would look after our daughter so I could FINALLY get out to do some hardcore fishing, and at first my daughter was making such a huge fuss about me leaving her, I gave up and I was not going to go but something was telling me not to give up and to get my butt out on Lake Ontario and Shawn wanted me to go and to try with our daughter one more time, so I did and she finally calmed down and was fine! So Shawn and I finally left and headed to the harbour. We met up with his friend and started to head out. Once we got to where we wanted to go we all set up our lines. We were in about 80 feet of water and my line was down 45 feet. My line was all set up on a white spin doctor with a white halo fly. About 20 minutes we yelled "FISH ON" Shawn grabbed the rod and set the hook and I took over and started to reel in. The fish went out at 250 feet and the fish really started to fight and dragged my line to 359 feet! After fighting him and 20 minutes later I FINALLY got this beauty of a fish into the boat! I was too stubborn and fiesty to let this fish win! After alot of hard work this beauty King Chinook Salmon weighed in at 25.3 lbs and was 37 inches long! This is my FIRST fish of 2007 and this will make a GREAT tribute to TEAM 9!!!!

  16. A couple of weeks ago I noticed a female robin in the hanging basket outside in our backyard. At one point when she left the basket I noticed a nest with 4 little eggs. I was surprised that she would build a nest in a flower pot! Well about a week later the eggs hatched, but now there is only 2 little babies in the nest, I don't know what happend to the other 2. But they are so cute and helpless. I have been watching them over time, and at times you will see the mommy sitting in the nest with the babies and the male robin will fly over with a worm and feed the babies. Right now though if we want to BBQ, we don't spend to long cooking, we don't want to bother them too much and everytime we go to BBQ, the mommy freaks.LOL. Now the babies have their eyes open and it should not be too long where the mommy will start teaching them how to fly. We were worried about them during the storm last night but they are fine! I have never seen a bird build a nest in a flower pot before, and it is very intresting to see them grow and leave the nest.
  17. Well I have finally did something that I have never done before, and that is frying up some great walleye fillets! Those are the fish that Fishindevil caught when he and ecmilley went fishing last weekend. Shawn did not have enough time to fry them up before he went to work so I decided to have a try at it since I have never fried fresh walleye before. He told me how to do it and left for work trusting me not to screw up.LOL. Well I have to say that I even impressed myself, they turned out GREAT! Not overcooked and just enough seasoning and coating! Now all I have to learn is how to clean them.LOL. But I made sure I saved enough walleye for Shawn to have the next day!
