  1. I was recently tasked with building a split rear grip casting rod utilizing some young Moose Antler for a friend. I got started on it a few hours ago and two hours later this is where I'm at. Thanks for looking. I'd also like to extend Happy Father's Day wishes to all the Dads here, I hope your Sunday includes a little fishing time.

  2. Very nice as always Spiel. I like the groove with the natural color of the antler, gives it some character. Happy fathers day to all as well from me, and yes, I am happy to say it did involve some fishing. Three pike, One hammer handle, a three pounder and the biggest being seven pounds, all from shore, fifteen minutes from the house. All caught on a cheap lure from the dollar store that I liked the looks of LOL.

  3. In all the years as an ornithologist that I have studied and photographed birds, I have never seen a mallard with this many. Pics aren't the sharpest as I was a long way off and the camera and zoom lens I had with me that day obviously weren't the best for this. At this same spot years ago was a Canada Goose with 23 little guys.

  4. I wanted some more rod holders so I got four but they didn’t have a base. I remembered Misfish saying to try metal supermarket so I ordered there. They cut to the lengths I needed. I got 2 at 1/4”x3” 8” long and I got 4”sq and 3/8” thick to make the hard to find big Jon Downrigger base. They can mount offset so they clear my Bimini when stowed.

  6. Finally got the tracks installed. I bought a 3’ one and cut it in half. It has enough room for a Downrigger and a double rod holder on each side. when I go for Muskie I can have a down Easter and a double rod holder on each side.
