spoonman Posted July 15, 2007 Report Posted July 15, 2007 Managed to get out today with my girlfriend Kathy today for some salmon fishing. We started off a little slow but the day picked up as we found some warmer water. The surface temps ranged from 47 to 54 depending on where we were fishing. Every rod in the program fired today with, the braided diver being the best of the bunch. Here a couple pics of the bigger kings we caught. One was close to 24lbs on my scale. All fish were released for another day. We ended up 14-18 today with a 4 rod spread, a couple of bows but mostly kings between 11-18lbs. Good luck to all anglers in week 2 Cheers Al www.alsadventures.ca
tbayboy Posted July 15, 2007 Report Posted July 15, 2007 wow, beauty fish, sounds like a great day on the water
bbog Posted July 16, 2007 Report Posted July 16, 2007 Great work spoonman, we didn't find the warmer water and had to settle for 2/2 (Kings) one 10lb and another 15lb. Did better yesterday (4/8 between Rainbow and Kings) when the surface temp was 57. Today we didn't find over 51. Guess that's fishing...

spoonman Posted July 16, 2007 Author Report Posted July 16, 2007 The fish are getting bigger by the week, so get out there and have a go at some of the best Salmon fishing in North America. Cheers AL www.alsadventures.ca
ilario Posted July 16, 2007 Report Posted July 16, 2007 actually, the sizes seem to be down again this year.. lake O is still the BEST salmon fishery on the Great lakes but the fish sizes (and numbers) have been declining since the early 90's. Fortunately, it appears that the slide is levelling off...hopefully...
