  1. Hi folks, Can someone recommend a decent launch out of these two locations? the one i'm familiar with is Musky landing.. is there another one under the bridge at waubaushene? I recall there were a few more in the Severn Sound area.. Are there any free ones? thanks!
  2. i'm sure there are a few skeptics among us when it comes to the environmental movement and its motives.. do yourselves a favour and watch this. Please pass it on... Enviro-fascists be forewarned.... you may not like this! http://en.sevenload.com/videos/ha4PoKY/The...Warming-Swindle

  6. Thanks Rizzo... is it a decent launch? We're probably going to use tubes tiped with worms - maybe live minnows. Do they seel live bait there? i got worms..i was thinking about minnows, otherwise I'll buy em at the 400 baitshop How's the pike fishing? Would you recommend the north or south section of the lake? thanks again...
  7. But seriously, that is ridiculous... i mean there's absolutely nothing in that tiny piece of footage that would convince any rational human that it was some undiscovered creature... the problem with ALL of these types of clips, pictures, videos, etc is that all of them are vague, blurry and brief images.. obviouslly some people get off on trying to trick others into believing such rubbish!!
  8. Might be taking Dad up to this area tomorrow. I was thinking of Go Home Lake as it's fairly close to the GTA and Muskoka's always good for colour at this time of the year... I heard the launch is on the south side of this lake (off Go Home Lk road??) - what about the fishing? As long as he has some action, he'll be content.. and so will I! Anyone suggest a location to start on this lake? The info I have is that the north side near a waterfall might have walleye. As well, there's an island in the same area with a shoal on the west side that is supposed to hold pike and walleye..? I've never fished this lake. I have fished Severn/Honey Harbour, but we'd like to change it up. Any help would be appreciated! Or, if someone can suggest an alternative within a similar distance... thanks in advance PP

  11. So I've decided to start up a fishing club at the high school I teach at in York Region... Not sure how I should go about this.. Anyone know of similar programs for teens? The school's in Thornhill (407 & Lesie) so it's not to far from a few good watersheds (rogue, Don) and some fishing ponds in Markham.. Hope to hear some suggestions! thanks! PP

  15. Yes, invasive species... I wonder what the impact is of water fleas, which weren't impacting untill the late 90's i've heard they eat huge amount of zooplankton thereby competing directly with alewives
  16. weird! they seem lighter in colour than the bats i've seen..or that the lighting? they also seem bigger on a side note, anyone here bout the rabid bat that was brought in to an animal shelter? the woman who brought it in did not know it had rabies! the authorities asked her to come forward after the fact due to the possibility that she could've contracted the disease creepy little buggers
  17. the chinook fishery has indeed declined and althought he MNR seems to always take the blame for everything, it appears that other factors are contributing... the salmon have been getting smaller for years and returns of mature fish are more likely the result of fewer fish living to maturity than stocking practices the baitfish numbers are down - anyone rememeber when we had massive die-offs? those days are long gone...
  18. I am currently running an older Evinrude fastwin which has been an extremly reliable motor... it's starts on the 1st or 2nd pull every time... older motors can run perfectly well... if it doesn;t work out, I'll sell it - can't go wrong since i got it for very little...
