limeyangler Posted 2 hours ago Report Posted 2 hours ago Hi All, Got back to the spot I got a bunch of walleye the other day for an hour and a half. Lots of fish cruising around, had a couple of nice walleye on but lost them half way up. I lost a lot of fish the other day too, I think i'm going to switch back to braid with a flouro leader for better hooksets. Only landed one small walleye but got a couple of pike too. The first pike hit before I even managed to get my camera on my head, it snapped me off at the hole and then 3 minutes later hit again on my other rod....got my other jig back! 1

Great video, thanks for posting. Unless it's for very specific presentations like topwater (straight braid) or spy baits (straight fluorocarbon) virtually all my reels (certainly spinning reels) are loaded with braid mainline and a fluorocarbon leader (usually 3 to 10 ft long). I attach the two lines using an FG Knot (slimmest knot for passing throught the guides), but an Alberto knot works well too. It gives you the best of both worlds...maximum sensitivity and hooksets, with the least visibility. For ice fishing, check out Sufix Ice Braid...it remains very flexible in low temps, and the coating sheds water so it doesn’t ice up. Edited 51 minutes ago by CrowMan
