I was recently tasked with building a split rear grip casting rod utilizing some young Moose Antler for a friend.
I got started on it a few hours ago and two hours later this is where I'm at.

Thanks for looking.  ;)

I'd also like to extend Happy Father's Day wishes to all the Dads here, I hope your Sunday includes a little fishing time.  :)

Very nice as always Spiel. I like the groove with the natural color of the antler, gives it some character.

Happy fathers day to all as well from me, and yes, I am happy to say it did involve some fishing. Three pike, One hammer handle, a three pounder and the biggest being seven pounds, all from shore, fifteen minutes from the house. All caught on a cheap lure from the dollar store that I liked the looks of LOL.

Progress to date on this build has been rather slow given my old computer died Tuesday morning. :(
Hence I've been busy getting this new computer up to speed, a task that will still require days....!

I did find a few hours this morning to get the Moose Antler rear grip turned and finished.
The pictures below show it dry fit to the blank and I will await customer approval before gluing it together.  ;)

I've been on a bit of a stall with this one while I dealt with other issues including a broken down band saw, essential for cutting antler.
I finally got the band saw up and working this morning in order to finish this Moose Antler handle.
Anyway it's now guide ready and will hopefully be hauling in the Big Ass Bass soon.

Cheers   :)
