mpagnan Posted July 27, 2015 Report Posted July 27, 2015 Evening all, Heading out to a lake in the Bancroft region in a week. The lake is active with smalls, large and Lakers. I have a nice pontoon boat and I'm looking for advice as to how to set up my rig for each of these species. Things like baits and depths would help a great deal. Thanks in advance, MJP
ccmtcanada Posted July 28, 2015 Report Posted July 28, 2015 If you are going for bass, my go to spots up there are 8-10 feet of water. Look for weedbeds that come near the surface. Fish senkos, Texas rigged and if winds are calm go weightless. Also fishing weeds close to shore in about 3 feet of water also produces. Good luck!!
mpagnan Posted July 28, 2015 Author Report Posted July 28, 2015 Thanks ccmt, Are we talking specifically for smallmouth, largemouth or both?
ccmtcanada Posted July 28, 2015 Report Posted July 28, 2015 More for largies....but smallies will take them too.
fish_fishburn Posted July 29, 2015 Report Posted July 29, 2015 Cast 6 inch Sluggos on a 5/0 gammy wg weightless. Cast to the shoreline pull slowly off the shore into the water. twitch pause and hang on. Theres big fish in under a foot of water.
