juventus77 Posted January 8, 2012 Report Posted January 8, 2012 Hey There Everyone I am just wondering how the ice is on Lake Nipissing. I booked Smittys for the first weekend in Febuary. Just very curious how the ice conditions are in that area. Im starting to get worried with all the mild temps we are getting here in Hamilton. Has Anyone been to Smittys??? Any feedback or comments would be greatly appriciated. Thanks in advance and be safe
Rod Caster Posted January 8, 2012 Report Posted January 8, 2012 havent' been to smitty's, but sleds are all over the lake and shacks are starting to dot the shores. Two trucks were parked approx 200 meters out from sunset point. There was about 11 -12 inches near shore. You should be fine by Feb.
juventus77 Posted January 8, 2012 Author Report Posted January 8, 2012 Thanks for the info Rod Caster
fishfearus Posted January 8, 2012 Report Posted January 8, 2012 I was talking to Sandy bay yesterday and they said they have 11" to 12". with cars and trucks out. Also said walleye bite was good, can't wait.
Nipfisher Posted January 9, 2012 Report Posted January 9, 2012 Lots of ice on "most" of the lakes. Trucks all over Callander Bay today.
Homer Is King Posted January 9, 2012 Report Posted January 9, 2012 I was up there this weekend. There was 12" to 14" of ice on south bay. You will have no problem by February.
juventus77 Posted January 9, 2012 Author Report Posted January 9, 2012 Thanks to everyone for the feed back Cheers and be safe
