eman Posted August 25, 2011 Report Posted August 25, 2011 just wondering if anyones knows of shore fishing locations around Scugog they care to share? It looks like a lot of private property from google maps. I'm in Oshawa for work Friday and thought I may drive up and try my luck for bass, walleye or pearch. much appreciated.
GBW Posted August 25, 2011 Report Posted August 25, 2011 Any place close to the Port Perry boat ramp and down to the independent store is decent to fish from shore. it just depends on what way the wind is blowing.
eman Posted August 25, 2011 Author Report Posted August 25, 2011 You'll be hard pressed to catch a walleye from shore, especially during daylight. Around dusk you may get lucky at the Causeway (if you don't mind a crowd), or off the north side of the Public Launch by the library. Schools of crappie push bait fish into these areas, and I would assume the odd walleye would follow. Perch are everywhere, but mostly dinks. Go chat up the guys at Causeway Live Bait. Good luck! my main focus would be bass but thanks for the tips.
Kwan Posted August 26, 2011 Report Posted August 26, 2011 shore bass go early in the morning to the causeway and try your luck. when i got back to toronto i whipped a floating rap at the same lily pad for 3 nights in a row before a 1 lber came out of the weeds for it... its walleye time. pm me and we can hook up im a regular there

You're not assuming, you've seen it before, lol. I put my dad on one fishing for crappie the other night with a little minnow on a glowing float.
