grimsbylander
Well it appears that last November the way you license a boat changed. Instead of going to your local Service Canada office and coming out 15 minutes later with a boat license, you now have to send the info to New Brunswick and wait for them to send it back. I spoke to a woman there today and she said they're very busy and cannot maintain the 5 day turnaround times which are posted on their website. Most likely 2 weeks!! Oh and make sure you don't use the boat...nice. Anyone know a workaround for this? Edited July 11, 2011 by grimsbylander
scugpg
You have 90 days..... http://www.tc.gc.ca/eng/marinesafety/debs-obs-paperwork-paperwork_boat_licence-1898.htm Owners of licensed pleasure craft now have up to 90 days from the date of purchase to transfer a pleasure craft licence, during which time you may continue to operate your pleasure craft with the existing licence and a copy of the transfer documents on board. (Section 102 of the Small Vessel Regulations) Looks like they are still accepting email applications...for now.... http://www.tc.gc.ca/eng/marinesafety/debs-obs-news-canadapoststrike-3959.htm Edited July 11, 2011 by scugog

I'm out of luck I guess. It's still worth it considering what I saved. Thanks!
