NY State Rivers

I'm just dying to get out steelheading. Does anyone have any idea if there are any rivers that are fishable south of the border? Anything better than what we have here; high and dirty? Not looking for specifics, just a general idea.

Salmon river in pokaski ny.... Huge river with tonnes of access and loads of fish... From the looks of google earth it's one of the biggest tribs to lake O
