SBCregal Posted August 7, 2010 Report Posted August 7, 2010 hey everyone, we're headed to the toronto islands tomorrow with some friends and their kids, they are going to centerville with the kids and we're tagging along. i was wondering how the fishing is out there this time of year. i know earlier in the year it is good for pike but i was wondering if it'd be worth dragging a small amount of gear out with us tomorrow, maybe sneak away from centerville for a bit and do some fishing. chances are i'll take something along, i just dont wanna drag it around all day if theres really no point. any tips/pointers for the area? ryan
alexcba Posted August 7, 2010 Report Posted August 7, 2010 lotsa sheepies in there from what i remember. one place the banjo minnow worked really well.
Fisherpete Posted August 7, 2010 Report Posted August 7, 2010 Carp for sure, maybe some pike and bass, but I have heard that the weeds can get pretty choked up in there this time of year. Let us know how you do!
highdrifter Posted August 7, 2010 Report Posted August 7, 2010 Forget about pike unless you can get the kids up at an ungodly hour and catch the 6:30am ferry.. I'd say bring some plastics and and work the slop for largies. There's tons of carp there, but who wants to fish for those eh?!
SBCregal Posted August 8, 2010 Author Report Posted August 8, 2010 thanks for the tips guy, but it looks like the trip isnt going to happen. looking for somewhere else to head for the morning. gonna head out to dunnville or port maitland area. it'd be nice to get into some perch or walleye somewhere for a nice feed. ryan
