Electric trolling motor maintenance

Since I just purchased my first electric trolling motor , I am looking to help it last a while.

Thanks for the link. I like to completely disassemble mine in the winter to clean everything and fix any minor problems that I see.

so far with my luck, I don't need maintenance, i usually bounce them off a dock and replace them
