just picked up a 12 ft boat and trolling motor the motor is older but still working

now I need life jackets and a paddle or oars (incase the motor fails)

also what is the deal with the operators ticket other than a money grab wil i need one

you can get in some doodoo if you are operating your boat without it. and yes, it is a huge cash grab. do it online and just get it over with.

don't forget all the safety equipment (whistle, flashlight, rope, etc...). I'd just pick up one of those fox 40 kits when they come on sale.

I just recently bought a small 12 footer too, have a 6 hp on it.

its not fast, but sure beats being stuck on shore, you're going to love the freedom of moving to where you want

instead of being stuck to places that are accessible by foot, NO MORE RIVER FISHING FOR BOWS OR SALMON FOR ME!!!!

I hated the crowds and all the crap they left behind!
