  1. NICE FIND, but being green means its not coast guard approved and you'll need another in the boat as it will not qualify as a life jacket come time when the ministry boys or OPP check...
  2. Are these Hydro maps of the lakes? or just a regular map? Sully
  3. I just recently bought a small 12 footer too, have a 6 hp on it. its not fast, but sure beats being stuck on shore, you're going to love the freedom of moving to where you want instead of being stuck to places that are accessible by foot, NO MORE RIVER FISHING FOR BOWS OR SALMON FOR ME!!!! I hated the crowds and all the crap they left behind! enjoy
  4. Tool Show? All I have to do is sit and my desk and watch all the tools walk by, tons of knobs too!!!
  5. I was going to make a table with a glass top, and under the glass I was going to display some old antique lures, UNTIL I RESEARCHED THE PRICE OF ANTIQUE LURES...man their crazy expensive...so no table.
  6. Atta boy... see, you didn't need a shop to look at it, fixed it all by yourself... now go have some fun....
  7. ya, after you check out the above mentioned.... any problems after you've tuned it up, then take it in....
  8. you'll probably pay as much as you did for the motor as you will for a tune up and check-up. pull the spark plugs, check the oil, perhaps runs some seafoam thru her and it should be ok...if not THEN have it checked out....
  9. Skeeter, Yup, Baileys Bay. What do I need to know about the lake. its shallow and weedy is all I know so far... pm'd ya Skeeter Thanks
  10. I just bought a small 12 footer. guy seemed honest enough, went to his house to see it. not water tested and the price was right. He'd be a fool to lie about the boat as I KNOW WHERE HE LIVES... had to go by his word on the boat, which is ok. I've got an older 1985-ish 6hp motor. all it needs is fresh gas and the oil changed every season, pull the plugs and replace or clean 'em up, aside from that its pretty easy to maintain a small outboard. mine fires right up after 2 or 3 pulls when I pull it out of the garage after a long cold winter. small engines are pretty-much bulletproof. good luck!
  11. Howdy all After a long wait, and an even longer time fishing rivers and creeks, I finally bought a small fishing boat, can't wait to get it in the water next week. We have a trailer on Chemong lake, and as we've never actually been on the lake before, I was hoping some of you could point us in the right direction, our first outing will be with my daughter, so I'm hoping she catches the fishing bug too. I don't need your hotspots, as I expect to find our own sooner or later, just a general idea of where would be a good place to start. Not picky about what we catch, just want to get my daughter "hooked" PM me if you like, any advice would be greatly appreciated. cheers Sully
  12. Have you ever been up there before? when are you going? Its a big lake. You're not going to connect with any trophies. Walleye fishing is slow. Pike are hammerhandle sized. In all honesty the fishing is just ok, maybe. you gotta work for it. Bring alot-ALOT... of minnows, as thats your best bet for the walleye. Gotta have a fishfinder too.... We go up for the fun of it and a chance to get away. there are better fishing spots....hosts are nice enough.
  13. Something similar happened to me about 10 years ago. found a staple in some chinese food, complained loudly, kept staple, contacted their head office. They sent me a ton of free dinner coupons/vouchers. I was not even hurt, just pissed that this could even happen to my food!!! YOU HAVE TO FOLLOW UP ON THIS!!!
  14. Ads been pulled. I've seen some really good deals on Craigs and Kijiji lately. I'm in the market for a sub 5 grand boat, but most of the good deals are scams BUYER BEWARE!!!!!
  15. I live in Ajax, hear them all the time up around Paul Lynn park. Saw one run behind my house about 3 weeks ago, in full daylite too! Pretty cool to know some wildlife still exists around here.
  16. On the way to work last year, Hwy 7 / Queen St. going into Brampton, there is a farmers field on the north side that always has deer in it, saw an albino deer there last year couple of times, very weird looking...
  17. I brought the family there maybe 10 years ago for some icefishing. Fishing was so-so, but we did have an amazing experience. At the time the washrooms were inside the house/main building. I brought my kids in to use the can and were greeted by 3 big playful kittens. kids loved playing with 'em, turns out they were baby cougars...absolutely awesome experience.
  18. I've sent them numerous emails about boats and trailers they offer on the site. NOT ONE RESPONSE! You have to sign up now too. Don't waste your time, try elsewhere.
  19. For those of us who ride motorcycles, they make a product called HOG TOGGs too
  20. I too am p i s s e d about the ever increasing cost of gas. A car, van, 2 motorcycles to fuel and a 140 kilometer commute, so ya it hurts. But, selling gas is like any other business, supply and demand. We cannot afford to do without the gas so we continue to complain about it and continue to purchase it. How the hell does Minister Dan McTeague know ahead of time when the prices are changing? somethings fishy. By stock in Petro Canada or some other fuel company and reap the rewards too. complaining about it without action is the same as sitting idly by doing nothing. Write a letter to your MP, make the gas prices an issue....
  21. My wife refuses to go rainbow or salmon fishing with me anymore because of the crap I see all the time in the "ajax" river. I tend to speak my mind, especially when I'm around the sanctuary......
  22. SO FAR THE KIDS ARE REALLY ENJOYING IT. Although we've only spent 1 week there. its actually a nice park, people seem friendly. have to buy a boat to fully enjoy where we are though. We have 1 more month before we have to close it up... we'll try to cram as much fun in as possible. Tangled and JWL, thanks for the encouragement.....it'll be fun.
  23. After much looking and waiting, we've finally bought a trailer @ Baileys Bay on Chemong. Took over a month to negotiate the deal, the owner got transfered out the country and had to sell. Anyways, we got a hell of a deal and are currently fixing things that need to be addressed, like building a deck etc... Anyways, for those of you that helped me in my quest for a little piece of heaven, thanks. Now we have to buy a boat.....hopefully see some of you on the water, if not this year, next year for sure... cheers Sully
