Parisite Posted August 14, 2009 Report Posted August 14, 2009 (edited) Hi all, Not looking for dinner and a movie. I'm a Novice Fly Fisherman (Just over one year experience) and I will be in SSM on Tuesday the 25th on (Monkey) Business. I should arrive late afternoon/evening and was looking to hook up with another Fly Fisher for a couple of hours fishing. I'll have my own vehicle and I'll be packing my waders for the trip. I don't mind a little travel to the destination. Please let me know if you're interested. Thanks. Edited August 16, 2009 by Parisite
Parisite Posted August 16, 2009 Author Report Posted August 16, 2009 OK...No takers. Any recommendations from a Sault Ste. Marie resident to a visitor with limited time for exploration? All help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Dara Posted August 17, 2009 Report Posted August 17, 2009 After a weeks vacation, I just don't have the time. If you want to kill a couple of hours, try the rapids. There are resident rainbows in there and Atlantics right now. Park at the locks and walk across the gates (legal walkway) and follow the trails to the rapids. Its worth it just to be there.
Guest ThisPlaceSucks Posted August 17, 2009 Report Posted August 17, 2009 Like dara said, the rapids are a great option if you have the gear to handle salmonid fishing... If you have a lighter weight rod there are endless brookie streams in algoma if you don't mind bush bashing through alders...
