Jet Posted July 9, 2009 Report Posted July 9, 2009 http://lifehacker.com/5308039/repel-flies-...-a-bag-of-water Anyone every try this? I'm going to give it a shot next time I'm at the cottage. If it works there it'll work anywhere! Hopefully it does cause it would be nice to have fewer mosquitos at the very least while on the BBQ and doing yard work.
CLofchik Posted July 10, 2009 Report Posted July 10, 2009 The trick isn't just a bag of water, but with one or two things in the bottom of it i.e. two pennies at the bottom of the bag. And it only works on house flies, mossies don't give a hoot.
fish_finder Posted July 10, 2009 Report Posted July 10, 2009 (edited) I've tried it, it works to some extent. I don't know about the whole penny in the bottom of the bag thing though......I've never done that and its been succesful. Didn't do anything for the skeeters though.... Jet Posted July 10, 2009 Author Report Posted July 10, 2009 Too bad, i was hoping for non-chemical solution to use up north. Oh well. Bring on the house flies then!
Billy Bob Posted July 10, 2009 Report Posted July 10, 2009 Tried one time with a wine party on my deck. All I got was a bunch of laughs from it.......flies were still around.
