No problem, unfortunately don't have a lot of details to share with you. Ted called me once he found out he was the winner (he had some boat issues after the conclusion of the event - so it wasn't until much later that they even knew they had won). They won by 1" over the nearest competitor is all I know. Him and Chonger have been close to winning in the past, so they were super happy to finally take it down. Sounds like it was a fun event.

    • Kayak Fishing on Mountsberg Reservoir for Pike (Video)

Thought I'd share a video from a quick trip to Mountsberg Reservoir. Didn't get into any big pike but it is loads of fun to catch huge numbers of smaller ones. Most of the lake is weedy but there is one spot in the center that is a bit deeper than the rest. All the fish came from that ones spot. Enjoy!

    • Eyes and Pike!?

Hey guys,  The GF and I are heading up this weekend to visit her dad for Father’s Day and hoping to get some fishing in. He’s on a lake connected to Glouster Pool on the lower end. Would like to try for walleye and pike in the Gpool but haven’t been able to find any good info. Should we fish Gpool or would we be better off fishing Little Lake? Any info would be helpful. Thanks.

    • Spring pike fishing

Spent quite a bit of time on the water last week. Fish didn’t come easy. A couple of skunkings on walleye, a broken trolling motor, many km and plenty of hours on the water. Finally found some active fish. Got them on a variety of baits with the big swimbaits and soft plastic jerkbaits getting most of the fish. They did not want the jerk bait at all for some reason. The new Minn Kota maxxum performed flawlessly. I should have got one long ago. Love the responsiveness of the cable rive

    • WABIGOON PIKE, BASS AND PERCH

Hi all,  Walleye is closed here for a couple more days so took the opportunity to head out on my home Lake Wabigoon to search for pike, bass and perch.  Water is still chilly, with the highest surface temp being 54℉.  Bass and Pike are aggressive at the moment, preferring large swimbaits and spinnerbaits over live baits.  Perch are where they should be but bite is slow. A week or so and the crappie should move in which is a bonus, but there are plenty of in season fish biting
