Burtess Posted December 24, 2008 Report Posted December 24, 2008 I usually take my kids icefishing for panfish to Pinehurst or Valens Conservation areas but am looking for alternatives. I drove by some ponds in Guelph the other day and one had a portable hut on it (see map for location). Anybody have any info on these ponds? Or any other ponds that hold panfish to keep the kids busy? Thanks, Burt
BUSTER Posted December 25, 2008 Report Posted December 25, 2008 easy fising for pike , its the old jail up behind that pond, i was told not to eat anything from there. should be good for the kids, its weedy and fairly shallow if casting from shore, ive never went out in winter but maybe not that you mention it! lol
Jen Posted December 25, 2008 Report Posted December 25, 2008 Ice is holding in our Marina 6 - 8 inches if you want to bring the kids out, pond is also good... Have a very Merry Christmas... Will be an ice rink on the pond soon if you want to throw their skates in the trunk as well... Will post when we have it all ready to go, going to flood it soon to smooth things out a bit Cheers, Jen at Fishmasters Bait and Tackle in Dunnville
iceslayer Posted December 25, 2008 Report Posted December 25, 2008 Any pond you see will be great for the kids. As long as your allowed!! Tiny jig's and maggots will pull panfish from a swimming pool if you try hard enough!! My kids love our ponds around here... Good Luck and Merry X-Mas JIm
