johnthefisherman Posted May 20, 2008 Report Posted May 20, 2008 Hi, was wondering if anyone knows any good shoreline fishing spots an hour or 2 outside of toronto area i can go to fish when i'm not renting a cottage. Also, I'm renting a cottage in stoney lake next weekend was wondering if anyone can tell me any good spots to go to on that lake or if they have a map they can share Thanks!
Musky or Specks Posted May 20, 2008 Report Posted May 20, 2008 Go wade the Speed and Grand Rivers for bass when the season opens both are just an hour away.
SlowPoke Posted May 20, 2008 Report Posted May 20, 2008 No need to leave the GTA for great fishing. You'll come across some great reports from the islands and nearby if you do a little reading.
steverowbotham Posted May 20, 2008 Report Posted May 20, 2008 There are books and magazines you can buy with great tips for shoreline fishing, most piers are a good place to start (assuming fishing is permitted)

I'm with slowpoke with this one. There are great fishing spots around Lake Ontario with a lot of different species of fish. Go out and explore!
charlied Posted May 20, 2008 Report Posted May 20, 2008 there is always the lower Niagara river in the summer for bass...anywhere in the Glen and whirlpool areas produce tons of bass.
