Nov 23/09 Sorry but We had a GREAT DAY
spinnerbaitking replied to spinnerbaitking's topic in General Discussion
I've had different people out this fall & out fished them all at first, when you have 5 or 10 nice smallies in the boat & they have 1, they start wondering what their doing wrong, 1st thing I did was gave them 1 of my rods & told them to slow down, I was using 8 lb Andes green line & a Smoke & Purple fleck tube fished really slow, If I was drifting I didn't get bit, too shallow 7 to 10 fow, so I was casting in front of the boat with the trolling motor on as slow as I could & still have control of the boat, let the tube hit bottom & give it slack line shake the tube 4" to 12" & reel down to it, work it back to boat & repeat, out of all the smallies we hardly felt any hits they just sucked it in & we felt weight & started reeling, the other rods they were using had Power Pro, 10lb Andes, 10lb Flouro Clear, 12 lb P-Line, the 2 - 10lb lines caught a few fish but not many, My father's cousin Pete used 6 lb light green on a 10' rod & had as many as I did on the day they fished but only caught 1, when I started catching fish I was roaring & every one around the lakes would have heard me, but especially the other guys fishing with us & then I'd wave them over to try catching the smallies & telling them to slow down or giving them my rods or tubes to get them on fish. I love catching fish but I also love to have my buddies catching them too. Water was colored a bit but could still see rocks or wood down to 5' to 8' Richard Not trying to blow my own horn but for some reason things just clicked for me this fall -

Rainbows or fall bass? (UPDATED Nov 22)
spinnerbaitking replied to splashhopper's topic in General Discussion
Nice Spashhopper that's much better than trout fishing, all you have to do is find the bass & they'll eat, off to one of my lakes today Richard -
Hi All I'm a member of KW Cambridge BASS Club & Waterloo Wellington CBAF Club & Grey Bruce CBAF Club, the Grey Bruce Club was new last year & I joined it because it was closer to my home in South Bruce & had a lot of fun with Mike & Ian, they were the 2 organizers & fished the most, they have both said they are to busy to stay on as the Executive but would still like to be members, I'm wondering if there is enough interest in the area to keep this club going, we have a lot of Smaller bodies of water with great fishing in them, it would be a Bass fishing club but start off earlier in the year fishing Pike, Walleye, pan fish or what ever the members wished, Tournaments would be Catch & release only & I'm in the middle of trying to start a local School Fishing Club also if the members are interested, I know I could get a few members in the Teeswater area that would fish some tournaments, please check out the web link & let me know if your interested, not thinking big money Tourney's more of a fun day out, meeting new people, with bragging rights on the line maybe an Angler of the Year Trophy or something Thanx Richard Elliott Jr Tight Lines http://cbaf.ca/

Happened to me a few times too, almost had to go Fishing again today but now I'll likely wait til tomorrow, my fishing Partner backed out so it's either Dad & I or solo again, not sure if Dad can get a pass, him & Pete have been fishing for Bows since Monday, Wiarton area & caught a few Richard
-
Ya Dad's the one in the white beard Dad & I caught them on tubes & Pete used a small Storm jig with a minnow shaped twister tail on blueish green, he had as many on as I caught & gave it to me after we were done, I'll try it next time Richard
-
Dad & Cousin Pete out for 3 hours this afternoon in Dad's boat, seems like every time I got a fish I got crowded out of the area, they kept saying they were just coming over to see my fish HAHA, my partner backed out last minute Head ache, I lost 3 more and broke off one on a rock & Pete lost about six partly because he was catching more than My Dad & he was knocking them off with the net LOL, Pete lost one well over 20" & at the end of the day said he never thought he would be fishing for smallies in 43 degree water & that was the best day of fishing he's had in a long time even though he only landed one, I got 1 other 14" no picture, what a great day, hopefully back out Friday &/or Monday, MAYBE Saturday, don't want to push my luck Richard

Water "turnover" in conservation areas ?
spinnerbaitking replied to splashhopper's topic in General Discussion
I have been using tubes to get my smallies this fall, it's all new to me too, I was very surprised at how slow I had to move the tube & make sure it was on the bottom. Smoke & Purple worked on My Lake in the area you & I were in Richard -
