  8. Hey guys. We've been building this hut since September and its coming along quite nicely. Of course I have gotten some ideas from some of the posts on the board. It is 12x7, the walls are framed with 2x2, covered with 1/4" chip board, 1" styrofoam http://i867.photobucket.com/albums/ab236/lovetofish123/Wallbuilding.jpg http://i867.photobucket.com/albums/ab236/lovetofish123/Photo-0013.jpg The floor has 2x10" runners on the outside that are connected with 2x4's, we used 2x3's to tie them all together. There is 3.5" of insulation in the floor covered with vapor barrier and aluminum. http://i867.photobucket.com/albums/ab236/lovetofish123/Unpaintedfloor.jpg http://i867.photobucket.com/albums/ab236/lovetofish123/Johnnypainting.jpg http://i867.photobucket.com/albums/ab236/lovetofish123/FinishingSkiis.jpg http://i867.photobucket.com/albums/ab236/lovetofish123/AluminumFloor.jpg http://i867.photobucket.com/albums/ab236/lovetofish123/AluminumFloor2.jpg http://i867.photobucket.com/albums/ab236/lovetofish123/Benches.jpg http://i867.photobucket.com/albums/ab236/lovetofish123/2011-12-18200534.jpg http://i867.photobucket.com/albums/ab236/lovetofish123/2011-12-18200600.jpg Were planning on building the roof on Tuesday. Hope you guys like it! Merry Christmas. Lovetofish
  9. I have a way to get it up there, but no way to move it on the ice
  10. Me and a few buddies are building a 12'x 7' hut and were hoping to find someone to store and transport our hut near Innisfil Beach park. Anyone know anyone? Thanks, Lovetofish
  11. Whats a good height for the hut to be off the ice?
  12. Wow thats a beauty! Any measurements?
  13. Hey guys. Just a quick report, went out on Simcoe today out of Keswick. We caught most of our fish in 35ft using pinhead minnows. It was an AMAZING October day! Who would have thought it, getting a nice tan on Thanksgiving Weekend. Hear are a few pics from today. Most perch were between 6-8", with a few 10" and 1 12". Just enough for a nice feed of perch. Ps. The only reason I kept any of the smaller ones, is because they were going to dye from deep hooks. Thanks, Lovetofish
  14. Where's there a launch near Roches Point?
  15. Sorry, it was late and I was tired. Hoping to only move the hut twice early for perch and later for lakers and whities. The hut is 12'x7' the walls are made from 2x2, 2x4 and 1/4" chip board. ps. I know what your talking about, about those windy days!!! I was/am using a fold up hut that was made from tarp and plywood. thanks, lovetofish
  16. Was doing some research because I'm building a hut with a few friends and came across a few good sites, with some great ideas. http://www.blfga.org/blfga/shanty/shanti.html http://www.iceshanty.com/ice_fishing/index.php?topic=3717.40 http://forums.outdoorsdirectory.com/showthread.php/44486-Building-an-ice-shanty.... Wasn't really sure what to use for the roof? Any ideas? Hoping to keep it light. Thanks, lovetofish
  17. Been a Leaf fan and Dean Blundell show for a long time! RIP Wake, way too young and way too good of a guy!!! lovetofish
  18. Amazing report! Especially because i grew up fishing smallies on that lake! My grandparents had a house down at the other end of the lake for 15 years. Haven't been up there for a few years, really miss it!
  19. We had a female wheaten that lived to be 18 years old, one of the sweetest dogs you will ever meet. Very energetic, playful, funny personalities and also very smart. My mom took her to dog school and she had just about every diploma that she could get. I currently have a golden retriever, awesome dog, lazy, loyal, get along with everyone and everything! My step daughter has a hamster and he plays with the damn thing! The kids train him to do things that i had no idea you can train a dog to do, very smart! He is my shadow, everywhere i go, he goes and you never have to worry about him wondering off. Once i forgot him outside, he just went to the front of the house on the porch and looks in the front window at us!
  20. Thanks guys. Should be any time now.
  21. Was thinkin about heading up to the Holland river for some crappie. Anyone been there yet? I was wondering how the launch is? I have 17.5ft bass boat and pull it with my mini van. I've launch there before, but was just wondering if anything has changed over the winter? thanks, lovetofish
  22. Awesome report! The little guy sure looks like a natural and pretty cool with those shads too!
