i was out today out of Gilford and there was 8" of black ice... fishing was pretty hot and heavy, landed probably more then 150 perch, between two of us. We were out to 20 fow. hope this helps. lovetofish

When it is really cold like that, the ice will make noise as it forms too.

If anything else, we definitely got there attention about this. The lady that i talked to said she received at least ten phone calls today all regarding portable fish hut registrations (that was at 3:30pm) She also said something about it being a misprint and that the head office is in Peterborough and they are looking into it. Kind of frustrated that she sounded so sure that i didn't need to register my hut, but wouldn't give me anything in writing :dunno: I agree with Brian, register this!!! lovetofish

just got off the phone with mnr aurora office and she told me not to register my hut because i don't need to!!!! She said they are working on changing that because it isn't printed properly. I asked for an email in writing and she said that she doesn't have anything in writing!??? whatever that means. I told her about us getting different answers from different places and she was aware of it.... guess we will still have to wait lovetofish

I too have written an email, just to make sure we get consistant answers from them. With the cold temperatures that are coming for this weekend, i hope to be dragging my hut out there very shortly. Can't wait for a response. lovetofish

I wonder what the fine is for not registering and how much they are going to enforce it?

how do i go about doing that for simcoe?

So if my hut is 4x6 and is made out of plywood and tarp, does it need to be registered? lovetofish

I played hockey for 13 years. I have only been on skates once in the past seven years, but just pieced together enough equipment to go play. Some of the younger guys from my work play shinny... guess we will see how out of shape i really am... lol.... this is going to hurt, but i love the game and can't wait. lovetofish

Thats kind of what i suspected. Very good point beans, never thought of that. Just checked the weather for Barrie and its suppose to get pretty cold up there this weekend, especially at night. Hopefully everything will go well and we can get back out there without having to worry about the ice. Thanks for your help guys. lovetofish

My little buddy is only 7 months old right now and i already have grown to be very attached to him as well... can't imagine loosing him either. I worked in animal hospital for five years and i know they treat animals better then we get treated when we go to the hospital.... So don't worry, he'll be fine. best wishes, lovetofish
