  1. thanks for the help guys. looks like my days of fishing cook's bay for perch are done!
  2. Anyone else getting tired of catching dinks? Don't know what else to do. I've been out 3 times out of Gilford road with my portable hut (which we drag by hand). All i catch is dinks. I heard perch travel in schools that are all similar in size. We move everytime we start catching the little ones or if were not catching any at all. i've fished everywhere from 10' to 32' of water. Is there certain areas on simcoe that have a larger abundance of jumbos? Any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks, lovetofish
  3. Dave your Awesome!!!! You'll do great, no worries!!!
  4. For some real fun i like to use a storm chug bug. Can't beat top water for fun, but not always for numbers. My favorite time is after a fairly windy day, when the wind calms in the evening and the water is like glass. lovetofish
  5. WOW! trip of a life time and great report!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  6. cool videos! thanks for sharing
  7. i like to switch it up between grubs and bucktails, somedays one works better then the other. We did really well in the fall on bucktails last year, landing some big eyes. rip jigging all the way. lovetofish
  8. i heard it from an old fishing buddy, who i consider to be a good source or information. But i don't know where he got it from. next time i talk to him i will ask. lovetofish
  9. beauty fish! wow!
  10. i've been fishing this lake for the last 5 or 6 years... sinse the ministry put the green chemical in to cut back on the weeds, fishing hasn't been the same.
  11. very nice looking fish!!! love the colors
  12. thanks guys. wasn't sure about if the steering controls and the tilt for the motor mounts the are the same?
  13. I have a 1988 mercury 60hp, a crank bearing siezed, scored the crankshaft, broke a connecting rod and there is a small crack in the intake manifold. Does anyone know someone who does outboard motor repairs on the side or a good mechanic? or somewhere to get used parts for an older motor like this one? any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks, lovetofish
  14. does anyone know if they will let u bring a canoe on the ferry to center island?
  15. if your using a spoon and u get a follower lift the your rod tip 12" and then drop it back down another 24" to allow the spoon to flutter in its face and sometimes u can get a strike. Any other lures, if you can twitch or get them to change directions at all that can help too. lovetofish
  16. i didn't do it at the end of last year for two reasons: too cold and i feared the worst. My fears were correct, when i stick a coat hanger in the cylinder and turn the motor over, the middle cylinder doesn't turn and i can push the piston with the coat hanger. i'm thinking broken crank or connecting rod. thanks for all ur help. lovetofish
  17. it is in neutral. the plugs were not damaged at all and i did pull the vent plug out of the gearcase... the manual came in today and i'm going to pull off the bottom end, hopefully this weekend. thanks for all your help and suggestions, i will post back when i know more. It is a 2 stroke and it was oil injected, but it is disabled so i mix the oil and gas. I was wondering if the 2 carbs weren't adjusted properly and 1 was running lean, maybe one cylinder wasn't getting enough oil? thanks again, lovetofish
  18. its a three cylinder. I took the drain plug out of the bottom end and barely any fluid came out at all... hoping its something in the bottom end then
  19. i tried pulling the plugs out and it still does the same thing. I ordered a manual for it and am waiting for it to show up before i try pulling it apart. It was rebuilt maybe 5 or 6 years ago. hoping its nothing to do with the top end again. It was stored right side up. It gave me trouble on the last trip of the year of the boq. hour and a half ride back on the electric trolling motor into the wind... thank goodness for a fully charged deep cycle battery! I will try pulling the bottom off asap, i am a license car mechanic, but don't have much experience with outboards. thanks for the help guys lovetofish
  20. only part way
  21. My 1988 mercury 60hp motor turns over, but then locks... i can turn it back by the flywheel, but it only locks again if i turn it back the other way. it feels like something down just below the head of the motor... any thoughts??? Any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks, lovetofish
  22. someone told me your allowed 2 lines per person when your trolling, is this true? thanks, lovetofish
  23. i just checked the weather network and it says 10km/h west wind
  24. Thanks guys. My boat is a 1988 bass tracker. If anyone sees me out there, feel free to say hello. Was going to try to get a copy of the OFC anthem to play from my stereo, just to get everyone in the mood. lol lovetofish
