2019-2020 Hockey Thread

I didn't see Lucic's interview but it was most likely the no call on a Ducks goal during the meltdown. Kessler was tugging on Talbots pad in the scrum. Frankly, with some of the goals that have been called back for goalie interference I'm really surprised the Oilers didn't get the call. There was even a video review. -

Looks like Crosby just might be playing the next game...key word, might. The way OV and Holtby are playing there's no rush. Lol -
Beautiful truck Rick! Gonna just throw the herd of kids in the back under a cargo net??? Nice! Can't hear them on the long drives, no worry about spilling juice boxes and all you have to do is hammer the brakes to get their attention!! That's some solid family planning! PS That's the exact truck I'd buy. I have the same model and colour in a 2012 and haven't had a single issue.

The worse part is Karlsson not coming back for the 3rd. If he doesn't play the rest of this series, goodnight. Go Rangers!!! -
If you're going brand new I guess that's the way to go for you. I'm not sure what the Basscat cost new, but I'd be looking at a Z520 in the $45K - $65K range before I'd by new. That is a lot more boat and probably less money. There's a few out there now with <100 hours and some under 50...with a warranty. Plus you can find some with upgraded electronics and power poles/talons. Obviously your call but for the money, I'd go with Z520/Z521 and a 250hp.

Have you been out in both boats? That 3" difference in beam would make a bigger difference to the overall stability and ride vs the difference in length. I'm bias no doubt, but here in Ontario, I'd bet the resale of a Ranger would be better and easier than a Basscat. That's not a knock against Basscat, their super boats, just not as popular as Ranger and I think that shows up at selling time. At the end of the day, the boat you love to be in is the one to get. Good luck and let me know what you decide...with a picture!!

Strange considering the arena in Ottawa isn't too far away for TORONTO fans when the leafs play there! lol That was obviously just an excuse from a poor fan base. -

Imagine if they were losing? It would be flipped...2000 seats sold. Oh well, good on the fans that do go, they get a great deal on the ticket prices. It may be relatively short lived though if this team doesn't find a way to generate more revenue. -
Yeah, it would be easier at the top of transom.

Yup, that's why Babcock wouldn't talk about player performances in his post game interview. I'm really interested to see what the off-season brings. -

That was a great season. Good job Leafs!!!! -
When I find some time, I'm going to install a Flow-Rite remote drain plug on my Ranger. The drain plug location is up underneath the built-in extension and a stretch to install. These remote plugs are very popular for that reason.

Trying to bring back finish on fibreglass gell coat.

^^^^ Absolutely not! That was 1500 >>> 2000 wet sanded, buffed with a moisturizer, and sealed. That boat will look fantastic all summer because the sealant will prevent further oxidation. -

Depending on the condition of the gelcoat, there are a number of ways to completely restore the finish. If the boat has fairly heavy oxidation, wet sanding is most likely required. Don't be intimidated, its just elbow grease and if you use the right products and follow the sequence the results are awesome and it DOES last. I have the products and the method if you're interested. Here are a couple before and after pics from a boat I did last fall. Before: After: With the oxidation removed, the blue really comes through and got much deeper. Those pictures were taken the same day one hour apart. -

I assume you are talking about hazing in your gel coat? If so, check out Protec Products online. It's amazing stuff and it LASTS. -

Seeing how well the Leafs have played against Washington, I would have loved to see a Toronto - Ottawa series. The Caps are one of the top teams in the league this year...Boston, well, not so much. Would have been interesting! -
Then you boys can all go back to 12' aluminums so you can reach the plug when on plane. I'm at the age that I don't really need or want a boat that I have to care if it can drain while on plane. It better not leak and for those rainy days, there's a switch on the console that says bilge!

Whoa! Did we just trade Polak for Oveckin? -
I was thinking this too but nowhere did he indicate that the old one has GPS. If it doesn't, he does not want GPS only on the bow.

I watched that game too. It as all Rangers for the entire 3rd period when it was tied and if not for Price, there wouldn't have been an OT. How about Chicago?????? I would have lost money on that series! -

I'm probably on an island here, and I know the analysts sing his praises, but Gardiner drives me nuts!! That lackadaisical saunter he seems to have when he's got the puck! Even last night with 15 seconds left he goes back to pick up the puck and does the big loop dee loop before sending it back to the Caps end. Maybe he's the best of what we have but I just don't see it. Zero sense of urgency. Ok boys, let me have it!! Lol
