  1. I know lots of people who use kirkland and deka, both have nothing bad to say about them. If im not mistaken, the same company who makes interstate makes kirkland. I picked up two trojan 31's, which ran me $150 each. Third year, work great.
  2. Most likely keswick. The east side. Thanks, ill look that one up!
  3. Might have some time to get out tomorrow afternoon. Usually fish thorah but figured I'd try for largies this time. Can you guys point me out to a good launch? Only time I've ever fished cooks was for perch years ago not on my own boat. Has anyone fished cooks lately? Wondering how the action is. Was in honey harbor last week. Tons of pike. Few nice bass.
  4. The 19P black max is pretty good. Stainless isn't worth it for the size of motor imo, The quicksilver nemesis (same as merc spitfire) is definitely worth a buy. Better hole shot and handling. Same top speed. Paid under 200. Figured id let you know incase you were looking at other props. This is with the 115 opti.
  5. Which broker quoted you for nautimax? Just curious as the quote seems a bit high, i guess it depends on your deductibles, and the value you listed for your boat. Have you found the max speed? What prop are you using?
  6. Previous stats don't mean anything. A 5m player should be consistent. It's obvious Carlyle doesn't like him, so what's the point in keeping an overpaid player who won't preform to his abilities. I'm sure another team will pick him up for less quickly
  7. Ton of giveaways, always knocked on the ground, Couldnt buy a goal in the playoffs, -10, ill pass. Not consistent, potential health condition? Also carlyle doesnt like/play him. So keep a guy for 5m to warm the bench?
  8. No way is grabo worth more than 3.5 mil. Good buyout.
  9. Too be honest, if i mark fish ill stick around. They were all over in the shallower water when i was out. The big one was caught on the shoal on the opposite side of Thorah in 5ft of water. I tried a few other waypoints in deeper water but wasn't marking many fish. My go to lure is a lipless crank by Spro, works every time. Most of the fish came along Thorah Island, the whole area there is loaded with smallies.
  10. My coleman extreme has been pretty solid, But the handle is broken, same the with the lid (its pretty old and been through many trips). Looking for a new cooler to replace it. I go on many trips sometimes up to 2 weeks camping. So looking for a cooler that can hold ice for a long time. Any input on Engel or yeti coolers? I know their very expensive, but do they hold ice longer? Are they worth the extra cost over another coleman?
  11. Haha Bruins pulled a move from the Leafs handbook.
  12. Nice 'eyes. Im considering a trip to Horwood this year. Hows the new boat?
  13. Nice fish! Have you tried the hm1 spinning rods? Considering one for my dad as an all around rod. He just uses one rod. Broke his previous accidentally
  14. Seen the numbers, crazy for opener. I want to start entering a few tournies. Think id fare better as a co angler though.
  15. Quick report, had to work the saturday, but left early and decided to take a chance with the weather. Left Mississauga around 1:30, pouring rain on the 401, wasnt a good sign. Once we got on the 404, not a drop. Launched at 3. Not many boaters on Simcoe, late afternoon throughout the evening. Lake was quiet and calm. Fish seemed to be scattered throughout the depths. Tried for largies, alot were hitting the live target frog, but couldnt hook up. Fish were small. A few nice 12-13" perch surprisingly in the shallows also. Decided to take the run to Thorah which proved to be a good choice. Pics off my photobucket, not sure which resolution is best for this site. This was the biggest of the day. My brother with a nice sized fish. All smallmouth came off cranks. We fished water 5-15ft deep. Landed around fifteen. Not a crazy day number wise but alot of nice fish early in the season (17-18"), if i have time tomorrow, ill see if i can get some more pics up. Love fishing Simcoe.
  16. Sweet, I have the same rig but 2011, you'll love it.
  17. I have one. Bought it four years ago. Works great. Broke the gun last year by dropping it, piece cracked. But it was $30 dollars to replace. I would purchase this unit again and recommend. Puts electrics to shame. I bring mine indoors, but i would imagine you would need to winterize if you kept it where the temps dip below zero.
  18. I know, my parents think im crazy wanting to get out to catch a fish in the rain. If only i lived closer, would hate to drive up there and have downpour like conditions.
  19. When I tallied up all my gear, that made me want to get insurance, Even for some of the cases of lures, shocking how much I spend.
  20. Every day I've managed to book of this season so far it has rained haha, such bad luck. Anyone going out tomorrow? I keep checking the weather and each time it changes all over the place. Hate the weather man, is it worth getting out for the second time but getting soaked while at it.. Ahh. Already missed the quite bass tourney because of work, sucks!
  21. Ok going to look into it. Is their a company that will insure it outside of home owners insurance? Just wondering because that my parents policy, not that it matters, wouldn't want my claims raising their rates.
  22. Anyone here insure their tackle?
  23. What lakes will everyone be on this weekend for the opener?
  24. Recently purchased the rod buckle, its a strap and retracts, wasn't a fan of the design. Have to make a cut to install. Anyone have feedback on velcro rod straps such as rod savers? Thanks
