  1. Better pick up some of those. Thanks.
  2. I take it BillM the swivel above the float will make the float a little top heavy?,than again it must depend on how much weight you have on your line pulling down.
  3. After about 4 hours on Friday I did start getting line twists around the tip of the rod. When I got home cut off about 80' or so ,ready for next time with the swivel above the float. Thanks.
  4. I'm at least going to try the swivel above the float. Why would one argue" over "or "under" float? Why is one supposedly better than the other?.
  5. Yes it's still free, but you have to park on the far west street from the launch.A lot of no parking areas now.You will see the vehicles there as you drive in on your right side.
  6. Thanks spiel, wonder why crystal?,any difference ?The test size will be nice to know.
  7. Bill, does the braid work as well as mono?.I use it on my baitcaster and spinning reel. What size braid would you use and in what colour? Thanks
  8. No Bill I haven't used one,but I will tie one on above the float.I usually have about 6' of line out,so there is not to much room above the float without pulling the swivel through the eye of the rod if your not careful. I'm using a 11'6" rod.Thanks.
  9. Misfish,was out today,very slow,not much action.We should meet up soon.
  10. Twocoda, what is trotting?,haven't heard that term before.
  11. Thanks for the tip,I will try that. Also when it's spinning is that not the walis cast or something different?. At the river last weekend all the fellas I saw were using the side cast and I didn't see anyone spinning it while side casting. How would you do that?
  12. I know when you side cast a centre pin reel while float fishing you get line twist. Is there anyway to cut that down by the way you set up your line. Right now I have a slide on float, small shot every 6" or so under float and I tie the hook directly to the line. Maybe I need a swivel or two but would like to know where to put them. I'm really enjoying it,and getting really good distance now. Also I'm using 8LB mono right now.Any help would be appreciated, davey.
  13. Spent about 8 hours in a boat with a friend north of the marsh Saturday, and not one single sighting of a salmon yet. Guess the evening temps have not been cool enough to trigger anything of late?
  14. Nice one!
  15. Well about 3hrs in to the morning I caught a 7lb salmon. What a fight, forgot about the early ones with a ton of energy.Saw a few jumping, but was surprised about the early bird fisherman this year. Looks like a good start to a new fall.
  16. I seem to think that river is almost always dirty,on a good day I find you can only see about 2-3' from shore.Somehow the fish seem to see well enough.
  17. I think I'll try first thing in the morning,I'll post back on what or what not is happening.
  18. The higher amount of rain would make it easier for the run up if anything. Also the cooler last couple of nights shouldn't hurt either I would think.
  19. Thinking of heading to Angus tomorrow, one would think the initial first run should be moving up in my past experiences, 2nd to 3rd week of August is typically my best time.Anyone know what's happening if anything this past week? Thanks Davey. .
  20. They look sweeeeeeeeeeet,not I'm sure.
  21. Don't mean to hijack this thread, but what would be the difference between the regular one for lawn mowers or snow blowers and the marine one for boats?
  22. when I start out for the day,I will try and cover shallows, rocky areas, drop offs, but always start covering water with a white 3/8oz spinner bait. I can not even try to tell you what this lure produces. You can catch any type of fish, just vary your speed returning if needed, and sometimes count to 3 when it hits the water:thumbsup_anim: and run it a little deeper on the way back. Good luck!
  23. Nice report chessy, good lookin bass, they say a camera puts an 10lbs,lol good to see him interested.Myself avid ,my two sons not so much.
  24. Why does he need a converter? maybe just lucky but on my last 6 vehicles, never needed them.
  25. I know 16 mile is Oakville,14 mile?
