  1. Leader must be the answer. Controlling drag was one lesson I learnt as a young fella.

lol, leader isnt the answer. But it can make things easier if your not experienced in fighting fish. 15-20 lb braid you should have zero reason to lose a fish.but an 80lb leader should allow you to remove cement blocks from the depths below haha
  2.

Kinsey also apparently did not distinguish between behaviour and preference, the figure he came up with as lifelong was 4% and I understand there was also an issue with the population of his study. It has been years and I forget the details but especially in that time if you look at areas like San Francisco and the cities with gay bath house districts you would see higher percentages. Those bath house districts are the same ones that HIV was eventually traced back to and from there its eventual spread.

was there monkeys and chemists in those " bathhouses" lol. Like HIV just Appeared outta nowhere
  3. Glad to know,IM NOT THE ONLY NEWBIE at this stuff.

What ever happen to plug and play? LOL

lol very true. I've always used fishfinders in the boat but never used them optimally. I always used then for structure and speed for trolling. Now im mad lol. Ive missed out on alot
  4. Good points bill ans limey. Also i see alot of less experienced anlgers lift fish near the boat, ot too much pressure. These two things result in breaks almost every time. When i fish gators im using a cheap set up too but it does the job. 6"7 or 6"9 shimano rod from walmart lol, and 15-20 braid, either suffix 832 or powerpro. I dont use leaders for pike fishing at all, its not needed IMO

  5. I woulda had 3 less fish for sure if i didnt have this unit. When i missed bites i could see exactly what was going on under the ice, and was able to entice bites within seconds. So fun watching what was going on. I had a deadstick going for abit, then all the fish moved. I put on a lipless crank and could watch numerous fish come back to examine then hit. So cool

  6. Awesome Rick, hows the current there on the ice? i can see you are sitting in that part that is an eddy with slack waterbut i seem to remember the current rips through the rapids there. That is where you are right?

there is current, pretty heavy actually, but of to my right is where i caught that bigger walleye, that was right in the eddie. Ice is great though, no slush came up at all, and the water was insanely clear so no fluctuations in water levels
  7. Went out last week to 8", lots of snow and slush. Not safe enough near the current to bring out the kids. Shoveled te snow off and had good cold days since:) ventured down this am after coffee, drilled my way out with my new shark and made it 30-40 ft out with 11". So out we go to play with some fishies and new toys:) my new auger is amazing, love it. Got it on the cheap too$175 used once. Now im anxious to try my brand new 4x elite:) weather is nice, bout -13 should br diwn there all day! Letshope the fish cooperate but will be fun regardless.

  8. You got something against Jo-Ho's ????

i do but it has nothing to do with faith. Oh wait its menonites in out area. Just about killed my kids and the individual lied right to my face about it. Seriously??? Anyhow im not hating mennonites, just the individuals involved. Id like to stick a duck call you know where, and make a call with compressed air. EDIT my apologies, These are my written expressed opinion and not those of A&E. have a blessed day!
