  1. Maybe someone does.

I thought it was bad when I was able to count flocks of about 1000 to 1500 on Nipissing. What you describe would be simply outrageous.

I'm sure someone does, there was 50-60 other boats in the area, being it was around the end of july it gets pretty busy.

I'm not 100% sure, but my buddie that owned the cabin said that happens quite often, they all spread out to feed, then in the evenings they all migrate back to the cascades at the very north end

  2. You got any photos of this, Manitou?

No, but I wish I did. It was insane. I've never seen anything like it. Me and two buddies were heading up to the north arm, where his cabin is, and for the first night we just set up a tent on on island 1/4 mile away, just BBQ'd and had some beers. That was the evening it happened, and most of our gear was at the cabin, including our cameras.

I'm not sure if that was common occurance, or just one certain day, but it was very crazy

  3. if minus 41 is tough...what is considered easy up there?

about -15 is nice and cozi. I went out for awhile today and it was -21, good enough to not wear gloves or a jacket for a couple hours. Sun was shining and no wind though

  4. lol, yeah, the weather usually won't keep me from fishing. It was a slow day though, only 4 walleye and all around 12". Then again, the mornings and evenings are usually much better than day time, but I needed to scratch the itch.

It was also very windy, so that didnt make it any easier. I broke off on what felt like a sturgeon, took me about 5 minutes to re tie, lol

  5. Originally I was here as manitoubass, but had some issues with my account. So after a 6 week hiatus, I'm back as manitoubass2, lol.

I hope you all are having a great hardwater season, I know I have been. I've been out on Rainy River almost everday for the past week, fishing mainly walleye. Ice is good and thick, over 14-16" for most spots, although the main chanel is still open water.

Anyhow, I want to get involved in the tournement this year, and I had to do a post like this to be added to the waiting list, so forgive me, haha.

Anyone heading to rainy river to fish at all this hardwater season? Feel free to drop me a message if you need a partner
