  1. Hey Manitou, I met the 1st guy from the Maytag ad's; Gordon Jump (from WKRP TV fame) and man he was one funny person! It was just a fluke and a 1 x 1 talk too.

Yeah folks the whole idea of the post was someone in the spotlight that you think you would have a great day with, learn something from and or teach them something.

So far the replies have been great so please keep them coming. For now I'm sticking with my answer from before... ;):P

hahah thats awesome! Honestly if i got my pick of celebrities it would be very hard. Bobby orr or stevie y, maybe steve vai or van halen, johhny depp or al pacino, dan marino or joe montana??? I have no clue? In fishing it would be gord pyzer or gussy
  2. Already, i know i know haha. Only owned it for 5-6 weeks and its run flawless, but the one complaint i read over and over again was the plastic switch. I was trying to show a local boy how to drill holes, and unfortunately he gave the cord a tug, lost his grip and dropped it. The switch broke maybe a 1/4", just to where it is a pain to turn the machine on, especially with gloves. What our your expert thoughts on repairing this? My first idea was very "redkneck" lol, gorilla glue a key to the switch for an easy solution. Problem is, if i break that heaven forbid, itll break the switch right off more than likely ill be left with a bigger problem. Second thought was remove the cover, drill a small hole through the switch, then tie some wire to it to pull up or down. I think this way might reduce the chance of further damage??? Thoughts? Its an eskimo 52" shark btw, and it was purchased used, no warranty

  3. One thing to keep in mind is freezing. If your in a shack no worries. But out in the elements braid will accumulate ice faster then fluoro or mono( this is coming from a guy that loves braid). Id stick to 6-8lb mono as it does what it should, and you can fish a variety of species without switching line, and its cheap ;)

  4. I love how some of the goaltenders back then flopped around like crazy to make brilliant saves, like all the time. Another thing i miss was goalies coming out 12-15ft to challenge a slap shot. Or how about the 80's early 90's where it was commonplace for a shot to be heading 2ft wide of the net, only for the goaltender do the splits to make a miraculous stop, hahaha. I loved it all

  5. Its a funny topic. I think its alot of things that need to add up for kids to take it to a superior level. Some children our groomed and have influential mentors supporting them and i think thats a weird thing. I played with some wicked good hockey players, someof them never made it anywere. One has a stanley cup(duncan keith). No ifea whatever happened to duncans older brother but at that level he was FAR above duncan skill wise. There was one other guy i thought wouldbe the next gretsky for sure, scored like ten goals game playing 10-15 minutes a game. He was benched most the time cause anytime he had a shift he scored numerous times, and no kid could even touch him. He went to college and i never heard his name again??? Maybe he discovered fishing lol. Maybe an idea would be to eliminate rep teams in the early years. Players in house league would certainly benefit playing better opponents???? Hockey is expensive these days and that doesnt help. Also it "seems" parents arent as involved as generations ago. My grampa did stuff for us kids i dont really see or here of today. Flooding a rink in the bush for shinny(sounds retarded but playing hockey in the bush is wicked fun), he also got the arena operator to open the rink for us at 5-6am on friday saturday and sunday. We would play for the whole morning. Anyhow, book written, point of it? Im not sure haha
