  1. Interesting. From what I have read, they are extremely solitary, pairing up only to mate. And, after five months, the mother pushes the kits out and they are on their own. Could very well have been a family you had, Irishfield - makes the most sense.

And yes, that would be quite a site to watch them 'zip' open a porky. This spot is filled with porcupines - as well as a tonne of snowshoe hares - so he is eating well I would assume.

Yes, watched a documentary on wolverines, Joey - very nasty machines!

Would be interesting to have one as a fishing partner, manitoubass! haha!!!

yeah he was cool. hed chill 30 feet away or so, feeding on fish guts etc. every once in awhile i wouldnt think he was around and he'd attack top water baits in a playful way, like he was training. one day he went after a small otter and took it down, looked like it was twice his size. I also seen him eating a pelican too but im assuming it had just died on the shore on its own but who knows. these things can hunt! also seen him with a fox one time as well.

he stuck around and had a home built in the hill. then come fall he was never seen again?moved on I suppose. beautiful animal.

never have seen a wolverine though and im cool with that lol

  2. I use one barrel swivel about 16" up while ice fishing. straight 8lb fluoro.

    works for me very well.

Id like to try these reels though. no reason not to try

I generally only fish as deep as 30 fow though so maybe there is a difference there.

on the river its a 3/8oz jig or drop shotting or you will get insane line twist from the current alone

  3. I'm excited especially since we are moving to earshot of LOTWs on the 1st!

I got out all the tackle since we are mid pack, and decided I might as well get everything switched over...

Now I'm overwhelmed lol. 30 or so trays all over the place, Gulp packs that have decided to leak all over lol(good thing I double bag them), baits I forgot I had, lines I forgot I had etc...

pure chaos in my living room right now hahaha.

    Very exciting though!

    hows everyone elses experience?

I'd like to have dedicated ice trays but lots of these baits also see plenty of softwater action.

It looks crazy right now but Ill have it all pretty and organized within a few hours I hope lol (before the better half gets home!)

I just got laid off work for a few months as well, which kinda sucks and is kinda awesome! More ice fishing and smack dab in the middle of my sons hockey so I can make every game:)

woot woot! Lotsa Northlands buckshot jigs left over too! I highly recommend these lures to anyone who hasnt tried them. they iced tonnes of fish last season tipped with a frozen shiner.

    so excited!!!!

  4. Now all those so called "fans" that threw their stuff on the ice I bet are all saying crap! I want my stuff back!!! great second period!

nah, half the people at the game are well off.

a real fan wouldnt do that anyhow, no matter what the team.

JVR sure has a few beauts tonight!

  5. I may have misslead someone with the Elderberry wine. Elderberry wine is flavoured by a tablespoon of dried elderberry and is useless. I make elderberry wine by crushing a few pounds of elderberries add some water and sugar and fermenting using a blueberry wine recipe, it works out to the same consentration as the extracts you can find at $5 an once thats why it tastes so bad. To work it should be used as prevention or at first syptoms .

    elderberry extract helps no doubt.

undenatured whey isolate or 1,3/1,6 d-beta glucan are better options IMO

and they protect against alot more then the flu!

    even cancer prevention.
