  1. You sure can! I can sit there and watch my jig and even the fishes reaction. You can see them follow it (and sometimes just swim away from it :(

thats part of the plus though! you can see what entices them, what they wont bite, then just switch up baits or tactics and it seems more times then not you can get them to bite!

my favorite is when walleyes are hugged tight to bottom when you first drop her down, a few rip jigs and like 6 fish scream up of bottom in chase! its playing video games really

also, actually even better is when trout scream up 60 fow and just smash your bait on the way up!!! you can almost set the hook before you feel the bite lol, ALMOST!hahaha

    mine is the elite 3x

  2. $300 for my Lowrance last year and its the best ice fishing tool I have besides my auger hahaha.

way more fish on the rod or ice using a graph

took a lil more time to set it up properly though and understand the functions thats for sure! but I think brian got his at the same time so I had terry the guru help me set it up properly.

to each their own though. my good buddy swears by his flasher

but I prefer to see exactly whats going on

  3. 170 KMs on a hard packed lake is pretty scary but 120 in waist deep power is pretty relaxing. :whistling:

    yeah sounds like it lol.

first time I went trail riding with my pops was crazy. I got left way behind in our groups. I was thinking how the heck do these guys make these turns that fast???

after i got more comfortable it was just pure fun though! travel like 300 klicks just to get a few beers and a meal haha

when we fish sawbill its awesome. throttle up and were on the spot in 4 minutes or so, wicked fun!

i dont even know what kind of sleds he has other then there ski doo. I think one is a 800 MXZ the other is 1200?

  4.

Maybe it was 117 KMs :D

lol I just edited that into my post haha

im not a big sled guy so now I think about it my statement sounded redonkulous.

even 117km per hour felt Very fast lol

on my second run I hit an ice road and it scared the living you know what outta me. thought I was dead for sure!

im no speed demon thats for sure haha

  5. That sounds like a great time. Good for you MB for taking the time and effort to do something like that for a good cause.

thanks! when a huge influence in the community moves on others have to rally to fill that enormous void cause he did soooo much for local youth. and I love fishing and often take out the local kids so it just seemed fitting. two of my buddies took over baseball but nobody has got on hockey yet which sucks. I might end up doing that too bit im not sure if time will allow me

anyhow, its a walleye derby but many people also caught their first sturgeons and said it was one of the best derbies they ever attended! and that blew me away being it was the first year!

I also had Elvis brothers band The Nighthawk Band play afterwards so everyone could get their dance on!

we even got donations from weechitiwin family services and had leather jackets embroidered with the tourny logo and those went to his parents which made us all cry when I presented them lol

hopefully we have good ice this year and I might actually move the event to LOTWs because that was his future plan, but who knows?

  6. I held an event last year of my fallen friend. a great person, a NADDAP (drug and alcohol addictions worker.

and ice fishing derby mainly for family and youth.

thats what elvis did, from baseball to hockey to pow wows. he helped anyone

so needless to say it was a great honour when his dad gave me the blessing to have an event in his name.

a post about outdated gear inspired me to post this well in advance

if anyone has gear that they dont need, please consider sending it for my event.

this is about families getting out, and youth catching fish. it really is a great cause

last year was our first year and it was awesome! we had some hiccups with 2 feet of snow before the event lol, but we managed

we had donations from the community, local business like homehardware and canadian tire. which was awesome! we raised $3000 for local youth sports, non profit of course.

and just as i had hoped, a youth angler dominated the derby! taking home $1300 2 trophies and a plaque, a snowmobile jacket, a new tackle box and two fenwick ice rods!!!

everyone of the 87 anglers went home fed for free, and with a prize. we had angler families from up too 500km away! it was awesome!

anyhow, if anyone has gear that is useless to them and wants it to go to a good cause please pm me. anything is helpful. i put together some starter tackle boxes for the youth so what you deem as garbage may be of use for me to pass on our wonderful passtime

the evis debungee memorial ice fishing derby is held on family day, so help out if you can or come down and fish!

    emo ontario(RRFN)

mods you can move this if you need to

    thanks in advance!!!!

  7. For sure, it's a RH baitcaster and a older crucial, along with a few other things, that I had lying around the house from years ago. I'm in Toronto though, so not sure how I'd get it to you. If anyone has any ideas, I'd be happy to send it to anywhere it would do good.

if your game I can pay shipping. I like to give items like these to families that cant afford their own gear.

my even is long away though(family day) but any donations are obviously welcome:) id send you pics of the winner too.

im donating alot of my own gear this year as well. we gotta get kids and families fishing!

  8. I have a youth/family fishing derby on family day if youd like to donate.

its an awesome event but this will only be the second year. Its held in honor of my good friend that passed, he was a drug and alcohol worker

last year was awesome! all prizes for the derby went to youth! the winner of the derby was 13, she went home with $1300, first fish, biggest fish, and second as well, also a youth angler award.

if you dont find a place for it, send it to me and ill make sure it lands in the hands of a youth angler:)

  9. Got the hankering for rigatoni and meat sauce followed by a home made cherry pie. Now to think about tomorrow,

Maybe perch wrapped in prosciutto, with a layer of melted havarti, grilled onion and pepper garnish served on an egg bun?

you had me at perch, again at proscuitto, again at havarti and so on and so forth

    sounds amazing:)

  10. Ok I am sick and tired of these so called T.V. hockey analyst that have never played the game or at least had nothing to do with the game at the NHL level. I love watching Sportsnet Central at noon with Kipper and Mcclean and listening to what they have to say, but when they seem to take the day off and are replaced with guys who never played I shut it right off. Hockey Night in Canada is doing alright with Hurdy, Kipper, and even Oates (love seeing Oates in there and glad he didn't bombed it like Domi did). Host Stroumboulopoulos (yes I looked it up how you spell it lol) is growing on me, but I do miss Ron Maclean. Elliot and Mackenzie need to go too. Just venting guys that's all. I love my hockey

did I read you like kipper???

  11.

it certainly isn't easy on gas i get around 150 miles to a tank but the way she pulls is definitely worth it

i have had it to the bar more times then i can count, in perfect conditions with my fat arse on it my best pass was 112 mph

not bad for a 600 dollar barn find and a couple extra tweaks to it :)

    whoa thats a steal!
