  1. Does anyone use an actual fire pit?

Im gonna make one next year but id like to see some pics if anyone has some.

Also id like to go back to charcoal but with our family size and how frquently we grill Id spend a fortune.

Billm you BBQ looks to nice to touch, nevermind cook on?

  2. I dont envy any of you on this matter.

Where I live rush hour means you seen 30 trucks in a 30km drive lol.

I will mention one thing, it could be worse.

In the town im from, international falls mn, half the roads dont have stop signs.

never seen as much an issue till I watched a young child hit by a delivery truck.

fault is on 3 parties I suppose but that poor kid. I couldnt shake that visual for years.

I think I was about 13 at the time and me and one buddy trying to help this child with his head half torn off was brutal to say the least.

drivers suck, iphoners suck, speeding laws suck.

nobody gives a crap nowadays, until somebody is dead.

I once went to a town, I forget the name, maybe st cloud mn??? But I liked what I saw. The whole downtown/school district was raised up on a curb. No driving roads at all.

seemed inconvenient but it was pretty awesome to roam the streets that way. Reminded me of barcelona.

Seems like a much safer alternative. But i suppose it inconveniences all the "rush to work" parents.

  3. That never hurts , use the old one as a smoker or charcoal grille :)

Oh its only two years old. I just need more cooking space with there being 8 in the house.

Ultimately id love to have a huge grill but i think two would work better for us

  4. Ive been out on my snowmobile twice this winter, for a total of about 5km

We've been sliding once. Not enough snow to cover the forage.

Outdoor rinks about 5 times and everytime we plan on going its gets to plus temps

Just last week it was +12 and raining. Yesterday, +3 and raining. Today? -17 and icy as all heck lol.

Surr has been a weird winter for nw ontario

  5. When I've asked Adam (Fishlogic) for help, he always bends over backwards to do what he can. Never met him but seems like a great guy.

You deserve a pat on the back too Rick for organizing events like that.

    Group hug?

Lol, dabasenindizo gotaamighozi is a funny guy now

    lol

  6. A story I am proud to say happens often here. Thanks to fishlogic for being so generous.

    Art

    So true.

I know we can bicker at times but there is always that passion that binds us.

    Teach kids to fish

What more can you ask for?

Im not joking, he sent such a nice, well rounded package.

Im very emotional just cancelling my friends event, but that generosity just blew me away.

    Very humbling

  7. So I held an event last year in honour of my fallen friend.

He was a NAADAP worker and heavily involved in the community. He held ice fishing derbies, baseball tournys, feasts, etc. This man helped everyone but especially children.

This year I decided to cancel the event because we lost another great member of our community, and in his name it was decided to hold an ice fishing derby in his honour.

Its upsetting but how can one run an event that makes people choose sides? Both events were scheduled for family day.

So I decided to postpone my event. So I as well as others can go have fun and pay their respects...

I just want to say a huge miigwich(thank you) to fishlogic, who sent an amazing package to go to a child angler as a prize.

When he first told me he could make a donation, I was thankful as always.

But when that package showed up I was blown away!

Quite literally it was a small tackle box, full of lures and components that many would be proud to have.

No idea of the actual worth but thats not important. But some child angler is sure gonna have a nice tacklebox thanks to him!

Im posting this because we all wanna see our kids or other kids learn to fish. And that depends on the great genorosity of parents as well as others.

Miigwich, and once donated im sure you will make a kid smile:) (and make his dad jealous lol)

OFC members rock!!!! And in this case, praise fishlogic!!!!!

  8. I wouldnt even take this to court per say. Waste of everyones time and money.

Can you not just go to the crown and explain? This would be thrown out in a second IMO.

Not sure if you can do that anymore?

I did it once about 15 years ago with a ticket for littering which was just as dumb.

Im walking on the sidewalk about 20 ft behind some teenagers. They were clearly drinking in broad daylight and had backpacks full of beer.

Cops pull up and of course they all drop their beers and run.

Cop writes me a ticket???? I explained myself and clearly had done nothing wrong. He wasnt having it. I even asked for a breathalizer to prove I was not drinking, nor was I part of that group. Nope, he wouldnt do it.

I went to the crown, explained in a few minutes and he dropped the fine just like that.

I cant even remember what the fine was, maybe $120 ish. No way was I paying that and the crown agreed
