  1.

I dunno how guys like Polak don't just lose their minds out there to be honest. No one has any emotion, it's just getting worse and worse, lol. We need some passion on this team, bring some muscle back, punch a few people in the mouth, do something!

Agreed. Did anyone notice how good and tough we were on the puck in corners on the offense when winning?

Now it looks like nobody gives a crap. Half our goals came from good puck battles in the corners.

Clarkson is showing some grit and Polak as well.

I'd almost throw a game and just say get out there and hit everything that moves. I wanna see 4 fights at least tonight lol.

Also, if the d has the puck on the blue line get in front of the darned net. If we even have one guy near the net he stays well out of the shooting lane. You play friggen hockey don't be afraid to get hit with the puck for f sakes.

  2. Kessel does exactly what he's good at, scoring. Thats never going to change. Hes a pure goal scorer which is different then someone like Zeterburgh.

Youd be a real Munson to trade Kessel.

And I dont believe all the "he's poisonous in the dressing room" crap either. Thats all just media spin. So what he doesn't like to talk to media, doesn't make him a bad teammate.

Even when Wilson said hes uncoachable

    Thats just nonsense.

Even in juniors there is players that are the exception to the rule. Every team has at least one, sometimes many. Happens in every level of hockey.

anyhow. I still say dump gardiner, lupul and Bozak if at all possible

  3. $5.49 per 1lb tank at Canadian Tire here...

    Or $1 to refill...

    You save $4.49 per refill...

I use 1-2lbs a day depending on how long I'm out... So that's $4.49-$8.98 a day in savings... That adds up...

If my extremities get cold they shut down on me... I've had days my hands couldn't hold my truck keys to start it... I'll even slur my words when my face gets cold... So I almost exclusively fish in a hut with the heater on high...

Wow that's pretty expensive! Maybe prices went up here too I'll check today.

If the weather is that hard on ya I don't blame you. I guess we all have our limits (age/health etc)

  4. I'd be looking at adding 2-3 solid d. No superstars just good men. We need defence and people that can clear the zone in one quick pass. I'd wait until seasons end if I had to.

We need one true center as well, and that's where I eat cost if needed.

Bozak Ashton lupul and Gardiner I'd be looking to offload asap

Nobody will take Phaneuf, but if I could I'd move him even if I have to eat his contract.

    Kessel/JVR/Kadri/Winnick/Nylander

    I'd keep them all

  5. That XR2 just pops because of the tires. Not much of a cosmetic change at all really.

    Anyone here drive a Tundra???

I'm not loyal to any brand and have had the pleasure of off roading many many trucks.

I've always liked the Ford interiors, but hated the stearing. I'm they are great town trucks.

Dodge trucks have some gnarly off road capabilities but break down way more frequently then any truck I've ever drove. I dislike the interiors as well. And sometimes that jump can get you in trouble (actually almost got me killed once)

Gmc I found similar to ford's with better stearing. Awesome interiors. Not a ton of power but still off roads pretty darn good.

Toyota I found to be the best all round. But if you do happen to breakdown it's tougher to get fixed. Off road capabilities are amazing

All my experiences here were highway to off road driving in the oilfields in Alberta. Good times but pretty scary at times too. Unreal some of the places I would have to drive to solo

Never worried about gas or diesel though because it was all company covered (I really miss that lol)

  6. Geez the Toronto fans turn quicker then the leaves in autumn.

One horrible stretch(most teams have the same) and the fans want everyone's head.

Fact is we have already seen how they can play. Both good and bad.

The team itself still has a lot of potential.

It doesn't need to be blown up and go into a full rebuild.

Just a few need to be relocated and the puzzle just might fit

  7. I have about the worst hands imaginable in the colder months. I got frostbite at work years ago on both hands, and they've never been the same since. It starts at the area that was frost damaged, and works out from there as soon as it gets cold. My wife started buying me Aveeno exzema care. Of all the creams I've tried, including the working hands stuff etc. this is the only one that has worked relatively well. Keeps my hands in reasonable condition, and soft enough that they don't crack as badly around the fingers and thumbs. Not cheap, but its worth a try, good luck!

Haha I use that when I shave off my beard??

Very good easy to find product

  8.

Yep, she's good at doing that. Made our own bugspray last year too (although it didn't work super well).

Cool! We make homemade balms soaps etc. Made a great bug repellant last year. Worked awesome but only for maybe 3 hours. When i finish unpacking boxes I'll pm you the recipe

For cracked skin I'd honestly just dip in olive oil or coconut butter

  9.

I run a 15,000BTU sunflower heater on a 5# tank and get two days out of it.

It generally runs full out most of the days I'm on the ice. A warm winter day is -20 here. :D

My Buddy heater is for things other than ice fishing as it on high is like my sunflower on low.

I picked up the Buddy to use in my tent trailer in Alaska in the fall when the temps drop below freezing. I don't like listening to the furnace run non stop. ;)

You opinion doesn't count mountain man???

Where you thrive I'd do anything legal/illegal to stay warm hahaha.

That being said I fish alot in -35/-40 and still rarely use my heater

I guess it's all preference but if I'm cold I just drill a hole or two. Or move around.

I'll never buy a flip over either it's just not necessary for me. (im not criticizing those that do however) I did enjoy my old shack before it turned into a teenage drug haven

  10. Ling is very edible, bowfin is not. As for snakehead, I've never had it.

Is Bowfin ACTUALLY non edible??? If so im curious why

I always kinda assumed if it wasn't toxic/poisonous a fish would be edible.

  11. I'm surprised you're not 400 lbs with all that awesome stuff coming out of your kitchen on a regular basis Ric :)

Well I'm half way there Chris???

    And thanks...

I just like to cook and experiment. Some stuff works and some really doesn't haha.

I keep my weight down by playing outdoors and having 6 kids hahah.

Even the best meals I usually just get scraps?

May sound weird but I find cooking kills my appetite

  12. My friend is a mechanic and takes bentonite (pills?). He says it helps a lot... not sure if it's prescription or not.

I'll give you some of my wife's homemade lip balm when we meet up for fishing, it works good on hands too.

    Good man/women

    Makes his own solution

I salute you RC (and your better half)

  13. Mmmmmm deep fried turkey!!!

So today I wanted to make a high protein bread.

Followed no recipe and somehow, first try, I made a bread that would yield 24 grams of protein per serving, plus cinnamon for blood sugar control

I'm shocked it worked. Tastes like vanilla Bannock

    I'm stoked
