  1. I've controlled mine for 25 years by never fishing with out arm bans. Putting them on after pain starts is closing the barn door after the horse left.

yep. The warmth still provides blood flow to the injury, and provides some stability to take pressure off the tendons

Sorry garnet I misread that... so I adjusted my post

  2. I will ice for no more than 5 minutes every 4 hours. I've know guys that have actually gotten frost bite using ice from the freezer. Use medicinal frozen peas or corn.

Use ice or a cold pack, but never directly on the skin. Always make sure there is a barrier, whether it be a piece of cloth or something else. Dont apply ice directly to skin

  3. Rick, isn't watching them the neatest thing to see? Sometimes they will hit a leaf floating by and sometimes they will ignore it. Those things can move and move fast. They will head butt carp and Gar 5 feet off the bed and be back in a few seconds. I also notice they leave the beds to feed (I will not give the time they do here). They have to feed sometimes. Feeding time they are really aggressive.

Oh yeah its awesome to watch!

They strike almost anything. Ive even seen them leave a bed and take a run at my dogs 20 ft away.

Its been a few years though because the water has been high and dirty.

But when its crystal clear id oftwn take a cup of tea down from the house at 6 am and watch for an hour or so.

And yes, they attack fast!!! Turn on a dime them fish. 0 to 100 in a blink of an eye

  4. Lol I was told by the guys at work to do the backhand jigging method for a while till it heals.

I'll get some ice on it tonight and see how it goes.

    Burt :)

Youll need ice alot more then one night. Ice often for a few days, every 4 hours or so if you can(initially it will feel much stiffer)

Then after 4 or 5 days alternate between ice and heat. Ice takes down the inflammation.

Heat promotes blood flow to the injured area.

Dont overuse that arm or its gonna take months to heal.

I cant see this being caused by jigging but who knows? Usually it would take more stress then that.

    What did your dr say?

  5. Haha bill.

Yep ice it up. Take some fish oil to increase healthy inflammation.

Stay away from NSAIDS if possible, they reduce positive and negative inflammation and that prolongs healing.

Tennis elbow can be a pita taking months to heal.

Jig (or tug lol) with the opposite hand.

    RICE

  6. If you like to cook(or love to cook)

You should always have EVOO on hand.

    Stuff is amazing.

To see how amazing it is, make some spaghetti. Drizzle with olive oil, add salt and pepper, and a little parmesan cheese.

Thats traditional pasta on my italian side(of course gramps makes his own noodles)

And serve on polenta if you can

Just remember olive oil burns at 350 I think? Its not fit for deep frying etc

  7. Eat a Bass!!! Blasphemy I say, blasphemy. I might eat one if it is obviously going to die, I'd most likely give it away.. Otherwise it would be like eating the family pet Rabbit. I have said here before that we can sit on the deck and watch the Bass spawn and then guard the beds. When we first bought the place I would eat a few but once I realized they spawn right here I can't bring myself to eat any Bass now.

Spending 5K on Carp gear is no more crazy than spending 50K on a fishing boat and not keeping any for the table, is it?

Yeah if i deep hook anymore bass itll be dog food.

I watch them bed here too when the water is clear.

Its actually pretty cool to watch them. They get nasty, even a stick floats by in the river and theyll hit it lol

  8. Beans there are a few recipes that use Soda water with egg for the wet mix.

Canuck2fan, I am always looking to prolong my glycemic response time for foods. I forgot about rice flour. It has to be better than white glue flour. Thanks.

You can really lower glycemic response with 2 supplements.

    Fish oil

    Whey protein isolate

  9. Maybe because not many people eat them?

Ive had to keep a few over the years and did not enjoy them at all. Shallow cold water fish.

Maybe a deep bass would taste better???

Weird because for their diet consisting so much of crawfish(up here) you would think the meat would be awesome. Instead its like the meat is half spoiled, spongy.

    Sure love catching them though!

  10. Sorry to hear of your loss. Binbrook Six Nations eh? Could have been a Hungarian dude with a penchant for black boats? If I was quite sure it was a certain individual or group of individuals, I would contact the authorities immediately. Why don't you? I really don't like the profiling but hey, that's just my opinion.

    Agree roy

  11. Everyone should try this once(at least)

Nice cold pike filleted and cut into chunks. Pat dry.

cube potatoes, slice onions, celery and carrots. Add to chicken broth and season how you see fit. I like to add alot of garlic.

cook for about an hour on a low rolling boil. Add pike fillets at the last 4-5 minutes.

    and serve!
