  1. I remember this clearly because i was on a greyhound bus the day before from Peace River Alberta to Edmonton to catch a flight home after spending the summer working out west.

I remember after getting sleep after a busy day of travel, waking up and seeing this story on the news.

I dont really know what to think on the news as this is the first I'm hearing of it but, wow those memories from the story and the trip back for me that day are flooding back

So you were subject to all the searches as well?

I never seen anything like that before

  2. 123chader,

I see you are fairly new here. We are an all inclusive group at OFC. Opinions are not only welcome but encouraged, trolling isn't. That post you made was not very well thought out. We have all pushed the "post" button when we probably should not have. Man oh man, that comment was beyond delicate, it borders on racist. No need to respond to that post M2B2, none what so ever.

I think I will go to the Pet Store in Cayuga tomorrow and buy a few goldfish, then I can make a fishing report.

I realize that. I reached out via pm as well. You know, be friendly. Some people mean no ill will, just ask an honest question.

Sometimes its just good people with a lack of understanding. Ill take it that way till im proven wrong

  3. delicate....but,why do natives have to be paid still?and why do natives feel they have more rights than anyone else?

    progress is inevitable,

Research it and open your eyes.

Most monies owed to aboriginal peoples is through treaties signed by your majesty, the queen of england. Contrary to popular belief "natives" are not paid with your tax dollars as many ignorantly believe.

Aboriginals are not any more entitled then anyone else, but they pursue what is legally owed to then by binding contract.

Many have mental health issues and substance abuse issues from the colonization and being forced into residential schools to "kill the indian in the child".

    Do a little research.

My mother in law was raped and starved off and on by priests and nuns. She was deprived of her parents and culture for 13 years. She was routinely beaten and fed scraps.

In a court of law she was awarded 120,000 for her troubles. Sounds nice hey? Not really. She has horrible panic attacks, cant sleep etc.

Why? Good question for another topic

  4. So a few years ago (2008) a young man was riding on a greyhound bus in Manitoba and was stabbed, beheaded, and cannibalized by a guy who was sitting right next to him. The guy who killed the young man went to court and was declared not criminal responsible due to him being a nut case. Now after being institutionalized for 7 years the doctors say he's okay to roam outside of the hospital and to do what he likes. I read he wants to travel to Winnipeg for the day, but the docs said as long as he takes his medication. What's your thoughts on this cause it's been on my mind for a few days now.

Im not joking here, i was supposed to be on that bus and my wife convinced me to stay one more night before my trek to grande prairie.

Security was insane when i boarded and i hadnt even heard what happened. Almost felt like i was in a war torn country. Full checks of all baggage at every stop.

I arrived in grande prairie and near the bus station read" greyhound, where you beheadin'?" In graffitti

Im glad I was not on that bus.

I agree, mental illness or not, he should never roam ANYWHERE freely

  5. We have a pretty unique household mike, with 6 kids it can be challenging, especially our 14 year old daughter.

I feel for ya but it sounds like this has worked itself out.

Oh my times have changed. As a ten year old I didnt even know what a vegetarian was, and if I wanted to be one I probably would have caught a swift hand

Thats quite the stance for a ten year old, thats why I was kinda speechless. I wrote out about 10 responses and never posted them lol.

Whether shes right or wrong you gotta love her determination!

  6. Pretty slow news day in leaf land, though it was a given that jokinen was in play I was hoping to see David booth fetch a return of some sort, but he really hasnt done a whole lot to justify being an asset to a contender. Classy move by blue jackets gm as well as Minnesota's, got a letter from Jordan Leopold's daughter asking for him to be traded to Minnesota and they did it then posted "it's not always about business" with the letter on twitter

Also just in korbinian holzer to Anaheim for Eric brewer and a 5th round pick, unsure if its a 2015 or 16 as I read in 2 different articles different years

Yeah I thought that was cool?

    Class act

  7. lookinforwalleye,

Cappacola, that is a long way from gobbledygool but you translated it somehow. That is a good belly laugh for sure. It is pork butt spiced rolled in black pepper salt and if hot gobbledygool pepperoncino flakes and cured. Cappa as in head or end in Latin or Italian, also Cappo as in top dog. Cappo di tutti Cappi. boss of bosses. The heel or end of a loaf of bread is the coppalla. Regardless I have never liked gobbledygool or Gabbagool as the Americans call it.

    Frig I enjoy your posts???

  8. Like I said sorry and no I don't understand all of this?

OK; that's my last comment. LOL

    Dan.

Different strokes for different folks Dan.

I find your comments a tad ignorant ( moreorless), but im not gonna fight over it.

We all have the right to express our views.

No hard feelings on my part.

Again I hope this guy gets his boat back.

    Thieves are horrible

  9.

There are no race barriers when it comes to thieves; but thieves (again regardless of race) that know the OPP and the courts are afraid of them; sure must make it more comfortable being one.

Google "caledonia wake up call" and see how the police have dealt with the situation in Caledonia. There is a lot of propaganda on the site; but read through that and it does show that there is two tiered law enforcement here in Ontario and the cops are afraid of acting.

    Dan.

    I will do that.
  10. "This conversation may be recorded for future use and training." is all you need. You only have to inform the other party. If they continue, they are giving consent.

Large companies do it ALL the time and my lawyer said it was legal.

As for taxes on EI. ALL incomes are taxed, NO exceptions. EI is considered an income.

Yeah I got the same advice from a lawyer.

Ei being considered an income is bull, IMO.

But thats the facts i spose

  11. Easyfish, your comment got me thinking... should we have animals in our possession for our own gratification?

So, I decided to ask an expert... my Lab.

We had a good chat and decided that he much preferred to be fed by us as opposed to chasing his meals and fighting for territory with all the other dogs. He feels pretty comfortable in his bed and figures that it is worth it to him to give up some of his personal freedoms, in order to live a happy life with our family.

I know he can't speak for the animals at Ripley's, nor can he speak for the various animals locked in the zoo, but I thought I would pass this along so perhaps you can gain an appreciation for another point of view.

    Your mileage may differ.

    HH

PS... I would quote you but I haven't been able to do that since the last system upgrade here.

Not my pups. I flat out asked them and the response nearly knocked me over!

They choose to live at the aquarium???

    Our family is devastated ?

  12. Because EI only takes federal tax off, not provincial

    ?

At least we should have the choice to have it deducted.

Id rather my cheque be a lil smaller then get dinged with a $2500 bill in between jobs.

    Silly

  13. If your gonna record someone make sure you have consent, or they at least have knowledge of it.

While were on the government topic...

Can anyone explain to me why during the 2 times i've been on EI in my 35 years, why you get abssolutely hammered at income tax time?

Geez I collected for 8 months if I remember correctly, that year I owed $2600 in income tax????

    Or was that just me?

Seems silly I pay tonnes of money into benefits but the rare time I collect I get taxed on it????

  14. There was a significant increase in weight training in the early 70's. There were very few gyms and even less individuals who knew what they were talking about. A strength coach for any sport had not yet been invented. If you looked at a common work out from the 70's you would cringe. You learned how to lift by reading Joe Weiders articles in magazines low reps with massive loads. Now that I'm 60 my joints are bone on bone, there are hairline stress fractures in almost every large joint. Was it from lifting heavy? Maybe. Lifting wrong, most likely.

It wasn't only the 70's that we did things wrong. In the 90's 2 of the worlds best golfers swore by weight training, no one in golf had ever trained their bodies with heavy weights. One was David Duval the second is Tiger Woods, neither are playing today on tour. Neither are 40 yet.

Ill comment on this tomorrow. Its far more complicated

  15.

some people might get pissy with me .... But do this with a rabbit

Lol, why would people get pissy with you? Waboose is awesome!

so I did this recipe tonight with pike...

Slam dunk, i had a small plate cause the kids gorged ?

Wicked good dish and the whole house smells fantastic lol

I served ours with some fry bread to clean up the sauce. Nothing else. The dish speaks for itself?

  16. had a bout with golfer's elbow (no I dont golf, likely got it from poor form lifting weights), very similar to tennis elbow but it affects the inside of the elbow as opposed to the outside. took a long time to heal. i went to a sports therapist who performed ART (active release technique) and that seemed to help considerably.

Same way I got tennis elbow. It was either too wide of a grip on barbell curls or from tricep pull downs. (Or both)

  17. Thats what the injury is called.

I had a weird feeling at my elbow this fall and winter and it was my first time experiencing it.

If it was tennis elbow youd know it. Super annoying pain non stop from just doing simple little things.

Ive had it twice and its not fun, almost as bad as planter fasciitis which is like walking on broken glass for months on end)

And it can last a long time
