  1. Seems interesting and worth trying at least. Tks for the idea Mike.

Another option to try is using kiwi fruit to tenderize. Half of one does 4-5 lbs of beef. Just don't leave it on for too long or your meat will get mushy. Works quick.

    Cheers

Yep, actinidin is the enzyme in kiwis. It works almost too well

  2. That pit is an outdoor wood oven in a Gazebo with a full kitchen BBQ, bar and more. NOT mine, my daughter's father in law. On Father's day we gather there and probably make 20-25.

The ones in the pan are made in our reg oven. Better than any delivered.

    Man thats awesome im jealous!

And yes homemade is WAY better then delivery

  3. Yea

With you mentioning bottled water; reminded me of when I did myself in one early morning; after partying the night before, at the trailer park. I wake up and had the hangover dries real bad and needed something cold. I go to the fridge and spotted an almost full bottle of water. As soon as the first mouth full went down; everything went into reverse gears and I've got my head in the sink. It was a bottle filled with vinegar; that my wife brought down to the trailer that weekend to make salad dressing.

    Dan.

Hahahaha ive done the same. My wife loves to put vinegar in numerous bottles and label none of them hahaha

A mouth full of vinegar while hung over is rough!!!Yuck

  4. My daughter got me a few years back. We were having a house party and I asked her if she would mix up a black russian (Kahlua & Vodka) for me. Off she goes with my glass and returns a couple minutes later. I take a big swig of the drink and had to run to the sink and spit it out.

Instead of Kahlua she put liquid beef bovril in the drink and it looked just like the normal drink. Talk about a shock to the taste buds; expecting sweet and get a mouth full of bitter & salt instead.

She still asks me every once in awhile, if I'd like another one of her "special" black russian; with a big grin on her face.

    Dan.

Oh man I got something similar while camping a few years back(it wasnt april fools but still a nasty joke)

We had just returned from fishing and it was scorching hot. So me and the kids hop in the water for a quick dip and i yelled up to my step mom for a bottle of water. She runs one down and i take a huge swig and immediately almost puke. She bursts out laughing. She filled the bottle with vodka and i hate vodka. Man that one got me good???

  5.

Heavy shade would be a bigger problem. 90% of your foodstuffs need full sun

Yeah thats why im limited to the spot im talking about. Its the only spot that would receive sun. Its sort of off the side of the yard.

Its not a perfect spot but it would receive sun all day but the area is fairly small. Id like to go bigger its just not possible.

  6. As long as your not planting or digging on the septic bed, and as long as you get the proper breakdown of matter, you are fine. When younger, one of our gardens was downhill from the septic bed. Was the richest piece of ground, had the best yields of tomato, huge pears, and almost never needed watering

Ok thanks. This location would actually be slightly uphill from the septic, but it seems to be the only logical area to garden.

Much of the yard is heavily shaded with apple and plum trees.

The space is limited with all the trees, we can maybe do 30×30

  7. Stick baits and cranks certainly work but I hate when the back trebles hookem in the sides and eyes when they jump.

    Nothin like a single hook.

    Thats a good point.

Every bass ive deep hooked and had to keep was on stick baits.

Nothing worse then when they inhale the whole bait.

Here is how the chilli looks one hour in

1.5lbs cooked beef, seasoned with cracked black pepper, onion powder, and garlic.

Added to crock pot after I added 3 cans stewed tomatoes. 3 cans of kidney beans, 2 cans black beans, 15 chopped mushrooms, 4 tablespoons of minced garlic, two small cans of tomatoe paste, 1/2 cup sugar, a ton of paprika, turmeric, chilli flakes, and pepper, and two dimes of dried habenero. Lol I think thats it? Oh 2 cups of local corn

But the dish is far from done...

  9. +1 to innis & gunn... My favourite beer hands down, and yeah in LCBO's they're about 4.45 for the big bottles I don't get the small ones haha

I didnt even know they came in big bottles now lol. Must be pretty popular these days. I havent had one for about 6 years. But out of all the beers ive had over the years this is one of the handfull that stuck out

I cant believe the price dropped so much

  10. Trying your ribs tonight..... Slow cooker was not big Enough for the two slabs I had......

    So...

Used a electric Turkey cooker we got for our wedding.... (I knew we'd use it!)

The house smells amazing right now.....

    About an hour to dinner!

    G

Awesome!!!! I hope you enjoy! Good or bad post it up!

Be careful pulling them out so they dont fall apart lol. That dish is the definition of "fall off the bone".
