  1. There is a TV program that comes on once a week down here - it's called Monsters Inside Me - it tells true stories of people getting parasites various ways - boy when you watch that program it scares the hell out of you - a lot of people get very sick and almost die and a lot of times the doctors don't know what is wrong with you until everything else has been tried and tested - what I've learned is to wash your food - watch where you eat out - cook your food - keep your mouth closed when swimming - wash your hands - the one story was about a guy who ended up going blind in one eye because a worm was in his eye - it was a parasite that he picked at a horse show from eating from one of the vendors

that show is horrible, I'll never watch it again.

Believe or not these occurenses aren't odd

  2. Yeah, I'm too specific on what I use for a program like that. Even now, ever winter I do a purge of the "it was worth a try" lures.

I left that phase about 3 years ago. I know what works for ME, so it's very rare I buy new lures anymore.

Occasionally yes. But I pretty much only replace lures now.

I'd never subscribe to these boxes

  3. Funny story... about 4 years ago my son was going to Brock University and was walking along with a couple buddies when a car pulled up. One of the guys inside leaned out and asked "Any of you sh!tweasels know where Issac's bar is?" It was Randy and Lahey on campus for a publicity gig and in perfect form!

Epic! I would have died laughing. I seen them in grande prairie for a comedy show and my gawd it was hilarious! Randy and leahey weren't in the show but I met them backstage. Very funny guys, to the point I wasn't sure if it was an act or they were really like that lol

  4. AWESOME! HUGE FISHES.

I have struggled this year a bit when it comes to bass, they are not as plentiful as most years on my waypoints and the ones I've been getting have been smaller, good to see some nice fat ones being caught!

Your not alone. It's been a struggle here too

I'm very curious if it has to do with new species in the river? All the sudden we have an abundance of crappie, whitefish and carp

I've caught the odd crappie over the years, then it exploded. But I've never seen whitefish in rainy river and I've only seen one carp until this year, now it's the new norm

  5. I still have a dozen or so 35 year old balsa wood floating Rappala's, everyone just happens to be black on glitter silver. Some are intact that need new hardware and some have been eaten until the paint is gone or crushed by big Pike and the heads are bent or lips broken off. They must have a wire inside them. Need to do an autopsy on a cold winters day. They worked then and still work today. Like they say most new tackle they come out with every year catches as many fishermen as fish.

The old rapala countdowns in black/gold are unreal good. I have maybe 20 and I bet they'll last a lifetime
