That's not that bad, thought you were going to say you drove to Colchester and forgot the keys to your boat!!!!
-
Hey Forrest, not to hijack a thread, but just about any marina should carry mast lights. I lost mine in my travels and had to buy a new one... it was 35 bucks for a 42" mast, not too bad. I got my from deerbrook marina around Belle River.

I don't think the board has lost it's way. It is what it is. Like anywhere there are good and bad elements. There is alot of cheerleading on this board to, but that's okay, because most of the people who post regularly on this board have been hanging out with each other for quite a long time. There are a lot of opinions, and with that sometimes comes differening opinions. Overall it's a great place to shoot the breeze and talk fishing. Many people here have made lifelong friendships with other members, so it can't be all that bad.

Belle River MCI kids fishing clinic AAA+++
Wendel replied to Handlebarz's topic in General Discussion
I was always amazed at how much MCI Belle River did for the community. Teaching kids that fishing is fun at a young age really sets them up for the future.. I'm glad that you had great weather for your day Mike, and that the rest of the community supports you(The OPP, the MNR, Transport Canada, etc, the people who donated prizes) Thanks for sharing this Mike, it's lets people know your not a bunch of Musky Fishing Zealots lol -
Does your post count still tick when you are trolling?

I've got an 2005 super crew and when the lease is up I'm going to get an 2009. I love it, even if it is a gas guzzler, I need the room and the truck for other things..

Belle river MUSKIES CANADA Can-Am Muskie Classic
Wendel replied to Handlebarz's topic in General Discussion
It was a lot of fun, but yeah, I wish the fish had of known it was a tournament and cooperated a little better! Thanks to all who help organize this very successful and fun event! -
Computer business is slow this time of year so I'm going to fall back on old reliable. I've got about 20 years experience building fences and decks as well as gazebos. Whatever your heart desires I can probably build, gates, arches, shaded Garden designs, even some nice sheds! I can do this in the Woodstock/Brantford/simcoe area. I can also perform repairs on these, your steps a little rickety? no problem I can fix them or build new ones! Send me a PM if you are interested in help a guy make it through the summer lol

Usually the pics in there are little dinks... but they have grown substantially lately!

Looks like an awesome time. We spent about 40 hours on the lake this weekend ourselves, I pretty much had to drag Nicole in to shore kicking and screaming... It's awesome when you have a fishing partner!!!

Nicole and I decide to head down to Belle River on the weekend for the 2008 LAKE ST.CLAIR MUSKIE CLASSIC CAN-AM. I was looking forward to seeing the guys from the Belle River chapter of Muskies Canada, it's been about 2 years since I've been a member due to the fact that I've moved to woodstock. We setup camp at Rochester Place Campground, I tell you if you are ever looking for a great place to camp and dock your boat this is definately it. it was around 42 bucks a night with taxes in! Great facilities, close to the water, and above all very clean! We said hi to the guys on Friday Mike(Mr.Eh), George(Outlaw), Paul(fisheye), and a few other fella's. We were camped beside a few other guys that knew about OFC, but didn't really participate in the discussions(HI Jim and Tom!) We were eager to get on the lake and try our luck for a few musky, but I guess we should have just stayed onshore and talked about musky instead. We trolled for about 3 hours, not a touch :/ It was a sign of things to come... Saturday morning we headed out just as the sun was coming up... We headed West, our plan was to fish in 10-14 feet of water. We wanted to try around the hump as there had been alot of reports of good perch and walleye fishing there lately... at 8:30am my Rod goes off... a good fight, I could feel alot of head shakes.. I'm think a mid 40's fish... uh uh... but it was a fat 36" We trolled around til 2pm without another bite, we had a family event to go to in Windsor so off the lake we went. Probably a good idea to, because a huge thunderstorm came rolling in! That was our fishing done for Saturday... only Sunday left... Sunday morning we head out again!! nothing to report other then it was light out... we fished til about 12:30 then came off the lake. We headed over to the banquet hall and had a great meal and a few laughs with our fellow fishermen. There were only 2 fish that qualified for the tourney... a 50 and a 49.. everyone else we had spoken with was either skunked or had small fish like us... Hopefully it's just because of the cold weather. After the awards and dinner we decided to stay an extra day in paradise... We were going to troll for some musky, but nicole wanted to get some fish, I wanted to help her so I took her to a secret walley spot I know... Here are the results... we ended up with 2 nice walleyes and a mouth full of fishflys when we were heading off the lake. The next morning we didn't get up so early(slept til 10), gassed up the boat, got some worms and head back again... There were some big thunder clouds rolling in and we did spot some funnel clouds over our campsite I'm sure(aren't trailer parks magnets for tornados?) needless to say, we couldn't go back to shore then lol Luckily the fishing was good.. We ended up with 9 walleye and a bunch of perch... We also saw this beatiful sunset and the lake was much like glass I usually don't keep so many, but this weekend we are having company down at the cottage and I wanted to keep them for a fish fry. Overall it was a great weekend... Mr. Eh, Outlaw, and the rest of the belle river chapter... thanks for the great time!

Found this on another board which led to this article. http://www.theglobeandmail.com/servlet/sto...PStory/National I don't know what this guy was thinking, he was named angler of the year for his fishing club, wonder if they are going to strip him of his title lol Supposedly all to impress a girl(his wife at that)

http://www.thestar.com/News/Canada/article/449139 Another reason to take a kid fishing!

Sorry to hear that Gary, it's been over a year since I lost my best friend Hershey, I still miss her!!! Dogs are special with the unconditional love the give, they just want to make you happy, most times they do.

I got my degree in Computer Science about 12 years ago. I worked at the casino in Windsor for about 5 years, hated every minute of it. I was a card dealer, can't go anywhere when you are at the table, had to stand there watching people lose their houses and blow smoke in your face all day long. I got into the satellite business during that time, and the entrepreneur went wild... I was making more money then any 24 year old could ever make, my wife was spending it faster then I could make it still though lol Soon after the gravy days of the sat biz were gone, too many people charging 10 bucks to program a card when I used to get 125!!! Okay 125 was unreasonable, but nothing wrong with 50. I ended up getting involved in a small computer store, my dream job. Turns out it was my dream job. I went from being a bench technician building and repairing pc's to becoming an onsite technician/Microsoft SMB specialist. It's so rewarding when you can go into a place find out what kind of problems and issues they have and come up with a plan of action to help them. It's also rewarding not knowing exactly what you will be faced with next. I've been on my own for about 6 years now. I have had a couple of jobs in between, but I honestly think I'm unemployable, I just don't agree with some people's business practices and I guess I let them know it! I should be rich right now, but I've basically had to restart my whole business after a divorce last year, so a little setback, but one thing is for sure I will never give up. I just wish I was not so shy, and was more able to go into places I've never had contact with and pickup some new contracts in the area, I would probably own the world if I could. I'm okay if the person calls me or if I've been there before, but man I get huge anxiety going door to door! In any event, if you think you have the perfect career for yourself, you might, but my suggestion is get out of it quick if you don't. Nothing worse then going to work everyday hating what you do. Since the Casino, I haven't worked a day in my life....I find it hard to believe that I can make a living doing something I love!

I had a similar issue this spring. my boat was filling up quite a bit. I was in a panic, I had never worked with livewells before so I thought it was one of those. What I did was just take the boat home, put it in the drive way and fill it up with the garden hose. Guess what it was.... Stupid me replaced the fishfinder, the old transducer had 3 holes, the new one only has 2 holes, some dumbass(me) forgot to silicone the old holes and the new holes... I couldn't believe the water the boat was taking on for just a little hole...

ah, I've got a Sawzall, maybe I can do it right in my driveway, thought it had to be welded to.

I know there are lot's of kit's available to convert your standerd trailer to a swing-away, but I was wondering if anyone had ever done it? I've got a friend that's got a machine shop so getting it done wouldn't be a problem. I guess I'm wondering if they cause problems down the road, like break right off while your towing your boat or something like that.

Yes I find the very difficult to read with the glasses on. Here's another one for ya though, what's the best way to get the fingerprints off the screen? I tried just a damp soft cloth and that spred them around more... is it okay to use windex? or maybe those glass cleaning towels? I'm not sure and don't want to cause permantent streaks.

I'm sure you will get a lot of use out of that boat. I just sold my old boat this week, and even though I have a new one, it still almost brought a tear to my eye seeing her go. Good luck with it, you are well armed to take on some big fish now!!!

Washroom accomodation for female passengers on your boat?
Wendel replied to Victor's topic in General Discussion
I've got a white bucket that goes on my boat. I'm going to be fitting it with an old toilet seat to make it more comfortable for the girls. -
I love this report... I need to take more pictures....lol

Waitress loses job after shaving head for Cancer charity event.
Wendel replied to wuchikubo's topic in General Discussion
The owners are doing a fine job of making themselves look bad, they don't need any help in that department. I read this story last week and thought what a pair of clowns, did they think people would just ignore the stories? I don't think the media blew this story up, either way, behold the power of the media!!! -
Thanks, a huge difference from my old boat, I actually have room for gear and passengers in the new boat lol I've never taken the time to sniff them, but I did get covered in slime from the second one, and that shirt might be toast now...

http://www.goldeneaglecamp.com/ This place is a little further, about a 5 hour drive, but they have a huge waterslide that never get's boring for kids. We are going up there again this year, the third time!!! Everything is pretty good up there, nice docks, nice things for the family. Some nice fishing to.
