  1. wow... I'll just leave it at that... that would be the trip of a life time for us... one thing missing... I thought... BEER lol
  2. Just got in, so this won't be a long ramble. Weather was nice, pretty windy some days. We had alot of family for visits so we couldn't fish as much as we wanted to. I guess I'm pretty good guide though, I did manage to put my wife on 6 fish, 4 of them were of excellent size and girth.. Here's some of the pics... A skinny 45 A fat 48 And her best and our boat's best... a 51 Almost all of our fish were on the same lure, a perch super shad rap... Also, what the hell are these turtles up to... I thought they were fighting.... she thought they were mating... maybe there were just arguing lol.. pretty big snappers, not the biggest I've seen but the largest I've seen there..
  3. Well, I see you're from Chatham.... My advice would be not to go to Longpoint Bay lol I would drive the 30 minutes and go to Lake St. Clair but... if you're going to go to LPB, I would try around Bait Island, maybe on the longpoint side where the big sandbar drops off, I've always had good luck there. Livebait works good(minnows) but I've also had good success with tubes and gulp minnows. If you're looking for largies, then I would try the in the weeds... there are too many spots to mention in the bay. Flippin and Pitchin has worked well for me... Good luck out there!
  4. One thing I just can't understand is how the speed of your ball can be slower then your boat. I could see it speeding up or slowing down +-1mph, but how can it go slower then your boat on an average? It's attached to your boat!
  5. Glad we came down even though we got the skunkaroo!!!! Not sure when we are getting out again. I heard a rumour it might be this weekend!!! Mark
  6. I've always found blue fox spinners to work well there. I also did fairly well with single eggs... It's been about 6 years since I fished it, I used to fish mainly between cleaver and mill street, sometimes I'd head up the between mill and bishopgate, but always did better the other way...
  7. not this year, we are spending a week at Rochester Place on lake st. clair. we will be there from July 31st to August 9th. It is on your way home if you want to spend a day on the big lake!
  8. hopefully your trailer holds up this year! I saw a camping shower in crappy tire the other day. it's very light weight and might be worth having.
  9. We are planning on coming down this weekend again. I may need to stock up on woodies... especially orange belly We caught the 44 on a orange belly perch Woodie, 5.75 inch The second was taken from a Polish Perch, once again with orange on it's belly. My wife was so Excited reeling them in... We are taking the video camera next time it was that exciting... The Muskies Canada event should be alot of fun. The fish are eager to bite... I recommend getting in touch with outlaw or Mr. Eh if you need more information. We will be camping again at Rochester Place... we just booked our site again, I swear we should just get a trailer down there lol Mark
  10. Who wants to fish for minnows when you can catch these lol My wife caught her first Musky in over a year! She's a little scared to touch them... can't blame her, a quick measure, photo, and release... a 44 and her 49 Over all we went 8 for 12 for the weekend. We were in the Ray Demers Memorial tourney. 7 fish over 50 inches were entered. We had a great time, and can't wait to get back on the water this weekend another fun Tourney coming up!
  11. That would be perfect, I have an hour or so of work to do in Windsor Saturday around noon... was planning on fishing to 11:00 or so then getting back around 2 or 3..
  12. We are heading down to Lake St. Clair, going to be camping at Rochester Place I'm so excited, it's been 7 long months since I've needed to use the BIG net
  13. looks like you have a good time. We are heading up there this summer, hope we do as well!
  14. Thanks for the link, it was an enjoyable read!
  15. I live in Woodstock, and this is very sad news, I can begin to imagine what the parents are going through. My thoughts are with them and all touched by this
  16. yeah, really looking forward to the opener myself. Can't wait actually!
  17. Yep, better get out your helmet and bubblewrap jacket soon. In the not so distant future we will not even be allowed to cross the street without submitting to a breathalyzer.
  18. I was looking at my cover the other day, and it's really starting to get weathered. There are no rips or thin spots, but I was wondering if there was something I could get to reseal it. It's in great shape other then it's not 100% waterproof anymore.. Can anyone recommend a product that I could spray or paint on that would help? Thanks
  19. Dude, you need a bigger driveway lol
  20. wow, nice fish and report! I must admit I was hoping they were going to rehab your addiction to capitalizaiton....
  21. Quick question guys. I have a charging system on my motor, I was wondering if it's possible for it to charge both the starting battery and the trolling motor battery with it? Can I just run wires back to it, or would I need another device to do this? My trolling battery usually holds a charge pretty good, but this weeknd fishing the river I had to use it alot, I'd like to be able to leave my motor running at idle and charge my battery up in times like this if possible.
  22. Hey Mike, I've done quite well on Greasy Chicken Wing, Monkey Puke, Watermelon. Silver Green/Silver Blue are all quite productive. As for size, I get the 28 or magnum size(Those are northern king, but will give you an idea of the size) You can never have too many of each kind either, some days they will only bite one colour type! Most of my spoons are Northern King, I have some stingers as well, they all work, just have to be doing the right thing in the right place at the right time!
  23. Services Canada would be able to help you. Might need a sworn affidavit, I had to get one for mine when the same thing had happened...cost me 30 bucks
  24. you should not just be able to search people just because you think they are up to something either, but you sum it up to probable cause and nail them with something, most of the people can't afford to fight the system so they plead or make a deal or whatever... As for passing laws that violate our rights... that's just your opinion which you have no shortage of, but everyone IS entitled to one of those... atleast for the time being We are just to dumb to do anything until it's too late...
  25. Should we be driving around drunk? NOPE But should you be at risk of a mark on your record, and losing your license for 3 days without a proven conviction either? NOPE once again "the man" has decided that we cannot govern ourselves accordingly and has "temporarily revoked" our rights and freedoms for the benefit of the whole. This is what I have an issue with. Do I like it when police search a suspected drug dealer and find what they are looking for only to have the case thrown out because they couldn't wait for a warrant? No, but at the same time I don't want them shaking down every passerby just because they "look like a tree, act like a tree, must be a tree mentality" Your rights and freedoms are something most people do not even realize they have until they are taken.
