  1. Wow what a nice buck. Good luck 9 days away from the opener!
  2. PB Walleye 10lb 34in on May 24. Started out fishing almost every day then I got married in July....been out maybe 5 times since then...
  3. I can't see too many of these making an impact. Most toxins predominantly settle to the bottom. The macro invertebrates and bottom feeders I would say are more at risk then anything
  4. Good game tonight. I'm excited to see kessel and connaly on the same line tomorrow night!!!!
  5. Battle of Ontario tonight. Who cares if its exhibition its our first look at the "New and improved Leafs??????" Lets hope so. Heres to squeaking into the playoffs!!!! All in all this season is on Reimers shoulders I wish him the best.
  6. Your right there is no need for river name dropping. plus most of the rivers on the north shore you can tell just by the stain of the water. lots of good spots and good hikes out there best background for fishing pics is bush.
  7. Even the best of rivers around here are not over fished. let alone most guys around here could care less about bows and ho's. I've fished the southern ontario rivers and I count my lucky stars.
  8. Once again I love livingin northern Ontario!
  9. Waded out there the other day for something to do. Chinooks are really coming up. Lookin like mini torpedos in there. Hoping for some rain to hit the park for cohos!
  10. Pretty sure discretion is involved pending on the situation. Nothin wrong with feeding the bears, coons eagles, etc. if remote water or bush not a prob. public place? just put them in the trash can. Lets not make it more complictated then it has to be.
  11. BOY I LOVE LIVING IN NORTHERN ONTARIO!
  12. "natural reproduction of salmon mean destroyed reds for rainbows and eaten little ones in the spring... we should never every allowed them to be stocked in the ganaraska river" wow..........
  13. Believe me there is no such thing as a fly in lodge up there. I have worked up there before all lodges are accessible by logging road. Most lodges do however own some point to the road and have big metal gates so you can't drive in. There are lodges that let you drive in but most have tell you its fly in only. and Hawk air and the others all will tell you the same thing.
  14. Think of it this way you would have to drink 100 cans of that stuff to = one 5% alcohol can of beer
  15. Well that guy probably should have minded his own business, but he was correct about keeping the smaller ones. General rule is big fish have a high reproductive success, pass on the best genetics(survival of the fittest) produce more eggs, and as for a bass be able to guard the nest better. And as for toxicology bigger fish generally mean older fish which mean higher concentraions of toxins especially mercury and PCB's. I work for Fisheries and Oceans and see a few toxicology reports here and there. Small fish do mean they are young. Actively feeding healthy fish will grow, and a bass will grow past 1 to 2 lbs pending on the size of its habitat.
  16. Oh man that would have been awesome. There is that one out there too of the guy moose hunting. Moose comes in about 6 feet. Guy shoots and the bull charges him. Here is the link to that one.
  17. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2rGGxMaWuaQ I'm pretty sure my underwear would be stained brown if this happened to me.
  18. I used to work at a fishin lodge just past Wawa. It doesn't matter what you bring up your going to catch fish. these lakes don't see too much pressure. Jigs tipped with leeches are dynamite and X raps work well. Heck we even took spoons out of the kitchen drawer drilled a hole at both ends slapped a trebble on one end and caught pike with it. Enjoy and have fun! btw the best place to eat in wawa is Tim Hortons.
  19. The problem with Kessel is he basically has one move and thats top shelf glove side. Goalies have him pegged, and I don't see very many more goals past 30. I hope conally can help but that was truly a desperation move. It will be interesting to see whether Reimer can carry this team in net, but if this is what we have going into the season its going to be another long one of presumably crossed fingers and false hopes.
  20. Toronto had a marquee player.....his name was Jeff Finger.
  21. Well with the first day of free agency Burke was no where to be seen. I thought Burkie said he was gonna be active early with all this right out of the gate talk. Then it donned on me. He doesn't celebrate till July 4th. Us Leafs fans will have to wait a few more days till Burke will have a few more americans signed to celebrate their 235th year of independence. Go Leafs Go.
  22. I lived in Lynchburg Virginia for 8 years. Its about 2 hrs from Massanutten. Fished mostly the James river and creeks up in the Blue Ridge Parkway. Tons of smallies and catfish in the James, and also caught the odd muskie. Hear the Shanendoa can be similar and the best lure of chioce for me was a jig with a white mister twister tail. Oh man deadly for smallies down there. Good Luck
  23. Red my seem to immitate a "bleeding fish" it holds some validity.
  24. I think this guy was getting free labor. Our house is surrounded by cedar hedges not once (28 yrs) have we ever cut the neighbors nor have we had any problems.
