Ok, opened the package and… its huge, actually too big!!! I think this is good for the Wicked Tuna guys! I should of checked measurements as something maybe 2/3 the size would be good. Maybe if I fold the last flap in…Not sure what I will do with this, probably return. Great quality doesnt feel cheap, just too friggin big.

Roll over image to zoom in BTG Gear Insulated Waterproof Fish Bag Cooler, 63"x27", for Fishing/Boats Brand: BTG GEAR 4.4 out of 5 stars 7 ratings $79.99$79.99

I usually do it in net/water. Boat would look like a murder scene if I did onboard.
-
So Terry, you would clip the gills while still in the water/net and then ice bag it? I have a livewell but its small and useless for salmon/trout.
-
I’m on Lake Ontario weekly now chasing Salmon/trout and have been bring a big cooler with me filled with ice to bring home the goods. Its fine but I only have a 16ft aluminum and it takes up space. I was babbling to my wife that a collapsible long cooler bag would be great and save space… well be careful what you wish for as guess what arrived for Father Day, yes the kids and her are awesome. Anyways, just wondering if anyone else uses them and pros/cons etc. Im hyper about keeping the fish fresh so hopefully a bag of ice with this will keep everything good a few hours. Also, would you guys bleed them before or gut them etc? I could filet them quick on the boat and bring xl freezer bags to put the slabs in… As mentioned Im always thinking about bacteria etc. I’m only ever bringing home 1 or 2 fish…

Anyone fish Cameron Lake near Fenlon Falls for Bass?
Raycaster replied to duke2555's topic in General Discussion
SlipperyVic don’t feel bad about Balsam, I have been fishing there yearly for many years and many hours and still go home empty many days. Every year seems different and I will stubbornly hit the “go to” spots 3 days straight for zero. And then I will lazely troll a walleye harness on the way back and hook in to a beautiful musky… It just seems to be that type of a lake. I do remember having a pretty successful day on Cameron right after the locks leaving Balsam with all those weed areas. I also see a charter guy posting weekly shots of big musky catches. -
Looking for Port Dalhousie bite updates
Raycaster replied to Sea Ray Lew's topic in General Discussion
I think I ran into the same problems and I kinda gave up and then 1 day I got the email success. Shame. Great site for specific North and South shore information for Salmon/trout etc. I 2x agree with Grimbsy Tackle too as they post weather info in the morning sometimes. I wish there was a good webcam view from 50 or Jordan because I hate driving down and seeing the forecasted waves wrong. Love looking at the webcam for Buckhorn … -
Looking for Port Dalhousie bite updates

Don’t give up on spoonpullers, great info in the forums. Unfortunately, it can take a long time to get access as they seem under manned or slower compared to some awesome site we know …OFC. Think I waited 5 weeks for verification… Kinda bizarre but it did happen.. -
We have been looking at possible houses in the Kawarthas now that the kids are gone and time to downsize. There are several properties for sale in Alpine Village on Pigeon Lake. How does the community sharing work? What are the pros and cons and why are so many properties up all at once? We rent every year on Balsam but never see anything close to our budget… Any info appreciated.

Ok, if your wondering about weather/waves I found this great reply off another site that I follow. I only have a small 16’ so weather is VERY important to me. I would give credit to the original poster but dont have it. Here is a screen shot of the post.

Carpet Stairs to hardwood/LVF ideas?
Raycaster replied to Raycaster's topic in Non-Outdoors Open Discussion
Well…. Ended up selling the house. It was too tempting not to with the crazy offers. THEY can redo the stairs, re-shingle the roof, replace fence, replace driveway etc… -
Any suggestion for Ancaster/Hamilton Mechanic?
Raycaster replied to Raycaster's topic in Non-Outdoors Open Discussion
Thank you for asking. I have had it for a week and it sat for 3 days in between with no faults. Crappy wet day today and again no errors. So It may be Fixed finally. My wife is pushing me to buy another vehicle but we always buy used and the prices are crazy. And then I heard that odometer readings are basically a joke now due to easy tampering and cheap mods available… an odometer “correction” tool can be bought on ebay for under $200. -
Any suggestion for Ancaster/Hamilton Mechanic?
Raycaster replied to Raycaster's topic in Non-Outdoors Open Discussion
Right on schedual the van drove flawless with no error codes and no engine light on Tuesday with the nice weather. Next day, rain and fog, error codes 5 minutes into drive. Thank you for the replies guys, will print suggestions and leave them with mechanic Monday. -
Any suggestion for Ancaster/Hamilton Mechanic?
Raycaster replied to Raycaster's topic in Non-Outdoors Open Discussion
Thank you for the replies. I did check Felix and Homestead Automotive and as posted they seem to be very reputable for sure, but booked up at least a week. The vehicle is being sent in on Monday to my mechanic for a full wiring check etc. All suggestions have been forwarded to my mechanic. DanD, beware, you may have an ugly 2012 Dodge Caravan show up on your doorstep in the near future… -
I have an awesome mechanic that has been PERFECT for many years and saved me tons of $$$ avoiding the dealerships, but… He may be stumped with a problem on my Dodge Caravan 2012 (210k). Its past its prime but used car prices are making me hold it longer. I have a p2127, p2138 code involving the accelerator pedal to throttle etc. Im well aware of what the errors are but fixing it is another story. The problem comes and goes and puts the vehicle in limp mode. I have had it at the shop 3 times so far, clean connections (2 week fix), replace throttle body sensor? (3 week fix), replace accelerator pedal assembly (1 week fix). He said all thats left if the wiring. Im going to drop off at mechanics again this week but if the fault returns I have to find a solution, damn gotta pull the boat! And have it trustworthy to pull boat up north..

Doing a simple nest thermostat upgrade for a friend and he assumed there was no common wire. He ordered the Nest power adapter and I went over to install. Didnt have much time but after looking at his current setup it looked like it had the blue c wire but it was connected the aux of the original thermostat. I installed the nest and used the blue as the common. I have included images. I had to run quickly but doing a quick setup everything looked good but I think I got a c wire missing message. Anyways everything running but will go back (with more time) to install the nest power adapter if in fact the blue wire isnt common. Any help appreciated.

Just to clarify, the trailer is working 100%. The wire harness tapped into the vans electrical is the problem as it isnt providing proper voltage to the trailer. The module is a basic relay setup avoiding any problems with trail light setup’s interfering with the cars electrical. I know I should purchase a new wire connection module but my empty wallet is leaning towards just splicing into the old 2012 Caravan tail lights and making for a quick job 30 minute job.
-
Trailer lights are acting up and everything points to the trailer harness (uhaul install) being the culprit. Trailer wiring perfect but all I get is brake lights on 100%. No running lights or signals. Checked power to module fuse - good. Checked ground - good. My crappy Dodge Caravan 2012 lights work perfect and checked fuses. The 3ft cable from module is not cut, checked at module and its not supplying signal lights etc. While not an electrician I still consider myself pretty adept at electrical circuits and a 4 wire loom for a trailer isn’t rocket science. I’m ready to just replace the module/harness and see CURT brands sold everywhere. Anyone have suggestions or something Im missing? As mentioned, the trailer is not in the equation, its not connected. The 4 wire connector has led indicators and they also show no signals.

Sorry to refresh the thread again but remote again was inop on latest Lake Ontario launch. So when home I checked everything and replaced battery and went ahead and ordered a 5 pak from Amazon. My “1st world problem” is driving me crazy so I watched 5 youtube solutions. I have cleaned the contacts and bent them a little for better contact but the remote appears like brand new. One user said to insert battery upside down for 20 seconds. They actually said it was a solution from minn kota. It seems totally unlogical but IT WORKED. Still don’t believe it did anything but… it is now working.

Finished today, did a 1/2 fill to hopefully get any extra shaving and then drained again. Refilled full and now ready to go! A couple Lake Ontario runs and then Nipissing in 3 weeks! Need boat in top shape if Cache Bay is fishable.
-
A friend offered us a free weekend in October so we are planning a “cool” weekend. I was told it was a no-motor zone so not sure on the fishing chances. I can bring up a canoe and kayak if worthwhile. Fished a ton this year and hitting Nipissing in a few weeks so if Cameron Lake is a no fishing weekend - its ok. Any info appreciated, Navionics unmapped.

My trusty mechanic will do the job next week no problem. He is very reasonable $$$ and said it would be a quick job. By the time I bought the repair kit etc. this figured to be the smartest play.
-
Will definitely watch for filings and probably a double flush! Have to track down exact thread size etc. to figure out what kit to order.
